Gordon Brown was reported to say the following comment
'I'm not really interested in the minutiae and gossip'. when commenting on Tony Blairs memoirs, but what may not have been recorded was the rest of Gordon's comments, which i believe went as follows...

Where else can I get insights into the duck infestation in heaven and the effects of stepping on one, which according to Mrs Brown explains how she ended up with me, then theres the insight into the relationship between John Major and Edwina Currie (although their names were removed for security reasons, I can tell it's them) plus Ann Widdecombes worries about Strictly Come Dancing. I always knew she was an old fruit!

Plus theres reaction from the local dogs when they find they are on the shortlist for David Blunketts new guide dog! Ah yes. The Daily Muse is more revealing than leaving your microphone on after meeting bigotted women the public. Not that that would ever happen to me!'
