Trojan attack

Can someone help me? I was surfing the web when suddenly a page came up that told me my computer was being attacked by trojans (about 364 of them) It freaked me out. Then it popped up loads of things asking me to install stuff. I tried to close it down as quickly as possible

I have Norton Security on my PC and I am running a scan now, now if I have worms will it detect them and kill them? or is all my data under attack?

It's just a scare tactic mate, you'd have needed to run the program to install it and normally it's not a virus in this case, it's just an adware bloated piece of crap that'll throw you at net stuff.

Basically whoever logs on, you, me, Bill Gates... everyone get's told either the same number of trojans or a random figure grabbed out of the ether...

Sounds like you've done everything right for it to have not done anything, Norton will find anything that may have snuck through but it sounds like nothing will have

    Definitely, the site has NO way of telling whether you have trojans or viruses, it's pure scarefest BS.
    
    It's like a digital psychic, plucking on people's worries to try and get people on board and handing over a palmful of silver.

        Just to reiterate what AJ has said you did the right thing by closing down. We received a warning at work that there is a virus programme that pops up and says that it is scanning your computer, We've been told to just close the computer down, restart it and do a virus scan straight away.
        
        BTW the same thing happened to me on another site, can't remember what it was now but I was looking for something for work
        
        All is ok.
