  • The B to Z of Birthdays

Happy birthday to Bryan and Znethru. Intelligent and Inspirational are just two of the words that these bloggers would use to describe me.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY

  • Two phone calls, selfishness and Flossy

I received two phone calls today- which is unusual because no-one normally phones me.
The first call was from me mam.
She just wanted a chat- to see how the job was going. I told her I was finding it difficult. And that I was enjoying weekends not doing anything, or not going out for an evening. She said to me that she was always 'impressed' with my ability not to be drawn in to doing a million and one things for people. She did say that some people may consider it 'selfish' on my part, but in the end knowing limits is important. I remember when i was involved with the church, you had to get involved with everything- Sometimes I think churches are the worst for that kind of thing. My sister hardly eve has any time for herself with everything she does.

The second call was from my drinking farmer buddy. He wanted to know if I was going to have half a lamb this year as he was taking some down to the butcher to get slaughtered. We always get half a lamb for christmas. And once again I started joking with my OH about the lamb. "Oh yes, I know which one I want. Her name is Flossy and she had the cutest brown eyes"
"Stop it" my OH whines "I don't want lamb now" LOL. Isn't it funny how some people can't think about eating something they have known.

  • La_Spice's poem challenge

Well I wrote a poem. It uses all the words and in the right order.

You didn't say it had to make sense ;)

The Inside Out scarecrow stood strangely in the field
The farmer that created him danced naked on the weald
His wife just watched amused as she lit the ringworm pyres
“The man of my dreams is mad” she sang and then let down all his tyres

  • Increasing my trophies with a bioshock

Yesterday I bought Bioshock for the PS3. Thoroughly enjoying it (although once again I play on easy setting- I do find if I go harder I don't enjoy it so much). There is a cool 'fifties' feel to it, with the music and advertising. As you start you hear a cool version of 'beyond the sea'. And it has trophies. So I have been collecting more
