Esspee Birthday !!!
A message from the grave
I have just seen this page on my blog home page. In the messages section it says NaN. Is this a message from my nan? That's weird because both my nans are dead. Spooky

Freestyling? er... lets just practice the routine
Last night I went dancing again. And it was good to see a couple more familiar faces that weren't there last week.
There were less people but the Tiger Lady was there! But without her man. I did check the corners of the hall just in case there were the remains of a mauled carcass somewhere, but there was nothing. Maybe she ate him whole!
Back to the latin jive, I am enjoying it- I am very good at following the instructions and performing what is asked of me, which this week included a little drop where the lady has to lean on me and I have to take her weight- which is OK for some ladies, but not as OK for others!! ![]()
After the 'lesson' there is time for freestyling, where you can do what you want. I wanted to go next door for a pint, but that wasn't allowed. It's a Ladies' excuse me, so I was grabbed often. However my problem is this..... I can follow the format extremely well. You teach me, I will do it. but I can't freestyle for Buggery. I go all over the place and appear to have more arms than an arm- (A good reason to avoid the tiger lady). So I ended up saying "Why don't we practice the routine" several times. I think I got away with it!!!!!
Jack Reacher
I have been reading. Which is quite 'novel' for me {CJ laughs at his own pun }
A couple of months ago I saw some Lee Child books on sale so I thought they were worth giving a go. And I did. I started with 'Die Trying' and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is an action/thriller, easy to read, which grabbed my interest within the first chapter. Normally I get bored with a book if it doesn't grab me to begin with {my bookcase is full of half read books} An excellent story. I then went straight on to 'Echo Burning' and I couldn't put it down. All these books feature Jack Reacher, a former Military cop, now just wandering the States getting into trouble. I have just finished 'Persuader' another excellent read- grippng from the onset and in some places I found myself tense just reading what was happening (the fight with Paulie is a prime example)
I am now hungry for more books in the series.
Feeling Pomp and Circumstanced
Last night it was the Battle proms.... but did we go??????
Well yesterday it rained non-stop til about 2pm. Then the sun came out. So we decided to go in the end. We didn't take the normal picnic as we knew the ground would be muddy and would be difficult to spread out. So we took finger food. We went with friends, which was nice.
As always the concert was terrific.
The Spitfire fly-by was excellent as usual- well flown by Charlie Brown (I assume Snoopy was left at home)
The concert was conduct by J Alexander again- camping it up as us usual. Wonderful music and a great finale. Jerusalem always gets me ![]()
Then it was fireworks
And the best thing... the rains held off for the entire evening. ![]()
Now I am all Pomp and Circumstanced up
Revelling in the Glory
I like this time of year when it comes to Premiership Football. The scores are new and the table can show some great results.
And this is what the table looked like this morning. I am enjoying it now, because I don't know how long it will last
Battle Cries Aloud
Last night was the first of the Battle Proms nights. And it was Girls Aloud in concert. And the best thing is, it's just down the road from where I live!
We got to the Abbey at about 7pm and there were several acts before hand- some I had never heard of. It included a group called 'The Saturdays' who have had a number ten hit. They were quite good. The there was the ex-Blue singer Simon Webbe (who my OH really likes)
Girls Aloud came on at about 9. Actually they came on slightly earlier and I don't think they were ready. They were good fun- lots of pop hits, including 'Can't Speak French' which had quite a cute little dance
. However, they are not necessarily the best singers or dancers. But who cares. Let's Jump to the Sound of the Underground. but be careful of your tutu as something kinda Oooh might stand on it!
The last year: part 3 (may - August)
And now the conclusion to this thrilling ride into my life....
May 2008
May saw us going to the theatre with my OH's boss and his wife, we saw 'The wedding Singers'. Music was the main meal of the month as we also saw Lord of the Rings. At work, the choral performance was a big hit.
June 2008
As I counted down the days to leaving my job, panic started setting in about the new place, especially when I started hearing rumours about it. But the trip to Holland was a success (bar one pupil). However there was bad news regarding my trousers....
July 2008
July saw me leaving my job. The last few days were fun, with some singing and some applause. However, my OH gave us all a scare when some chets pains caused me to call an ambulance.
August 2008
And that brings us up to this month. It is now the 23rd of August and this is my 3 year Blogiversary. Have I really been here for three years?
Thanks to all the friends that have stayed with me from the beginning and to all those new ones I have met along the way ![]()
The last year: part 2 (Jan - April)
Oooh isn't this exciting. Here is the next installment of the past year. An installment I like to call.... part 2!
January 2008
January came and went and my OH and I went to another Greek Night where the bill didn't quite add up. We also went to see the Spice Girls at the O2.
February 2008
February saw us moving from one place to a place two minutes up the road. And the bloody gas didn't work! And neither did the phone! The Greek night's bill cock up went from bad to worse as the owners took £20 out of my OH's wages without asking! More changes were afoot when I got a surprise interview for a HOD job.
March 2008
I spent most of March not blogging because BT cocked up the phone connection- many times! Eventually made it back online. We also went to see French and Saunders live.
April 2008
April saw the return of Doctor who and the Jacksons returning to Albert Square. I started my Telly Addicts group- which you are all free to join
{obvious plug} At work, the choir rehearsals for the requiem were paying off!
The last year: part 1 (Sep - Dec)
As I am slowly crawling out of my blogging terrible twos and toddling into the blogging troublesome threes I am going to (as I have done before) have a look at my past blogging year
September 2007
September saw me returning to work for my second year and the sudden creation of Club CJ. I also met Blondette for the first time and she really started to live up to her name!
Also my Salsa class was cancelled
October 2007
A new dance class opened in town run by the secret lovechild of Pete Beale and Bruce Forsythe. Club CJ went from strength to strength and I got my ass whooped at a disco.
November 2007
IN November I seemed to spend a lot of time Ill, but the Edgeware blog meet made up for it.
In the X-factor, Rhydian was causing a stir.
December 2007
In December I got my Sky HD. I had a lot o trouble with choir rehearsals for the Christmas concert and not being allowed to rehearse. We were also given notice to quit our property, so we needed to find a place to live and pronto!
On the plus side I found I was quite good at the Paso Doble
8 = 1 in the lair of the Tiger Lady
If there's a Tiger Lady in the title it can only mean one thing..... The dancing has started again!
Last night was the first night of my new course. This time it's not just salsa but latin Jive (whatever that is)
When I got to the car park, the first person I saw was.... the dreaded Tiger Lady. But this time she wasn't alone. She has snared herself a mate! She managed to drag some old carcass along with her.
The evening went well. There were loads of people there. Much more than last time. The format was the same, you learn a part of the routine and then lady moves on and you end up dancing with every lady at some point. There were a few familiar faces, but loads of new ones. In fact it was more like I was the new guy- which was fine because I used it to explain my rubbish dancing. When the Tiger Lady got to me, she grabbed me and we shared a kiss! Hehe Not really, it was one of those pretentious cheek to cheek air kisses. "Where have you been? she asked. "Getting my tetanus! I replied (not really) Lucky I didn't have to worry about a long conversation as she was soon shunted along to the next unfortunate victim man
As for the dancing, it was bizarre. I am used to a certain rhythm. With Salsa it was 123_567_. But with this it was different. "Count to 8 and then start again, but remember that the last 8 is also the first 1 of the next set." WHAT? 1 = 8? Why didn't he just say count to 7?
Still it was good fun, and I am glad I am starting it again. I have missed it!
And now the bad news....
... I have run out of smarties
Another Gold
And that's another gold to add to the collection. Doesn't it make you feel proud!!??!!
Sod the olympics, I'm talking about the PS3 trophy collection on Buzz! Three lightning quick answers in succession! Woohoo!
PS I am officially a sad geek
Masturbating is allowed but Octopussy isn't
As you may know I have been quite caught up with the Buzz TV Quiz game lately. There is an opportunity to write your own question at the mybuzz site. Now I have written a few (if you write twenty you get a trohpy- not that I am a trophy head or anything). One I wrote was about reality tv shows and I asked a question relating to Rebecca loos masturbating the pig. That question has had no problems with censorship (not that it should have)
But today I wrote a quiz on James Bond themes. And twice they didn't let me use the answer Octopussy! Is there something wrong with a bit of 'pussy? Imagine that, how can you write a James bond quiz without any reference to Octopussy! Madness I tell you.
PS if you go there now you can do the quizzes on the web site and there may be some of mine still in the 'most recent' set
Hellish Times
Last night my OH and I watched Hellboy on channel 5. I think it's the first time I've actually watched a film on channel 5. In fact I can't remember watching channel 5 much at all.
It was better the second time round too, especially now that I have seen the sequel. Hellboy 2 is definitely worth seeing.
In a fortnight today I will be starting my new job. New people to get to know and love tolerate. Haha I suppose it is they that have to tolerate me! Annoyingly I have told some pupils that I will do some tutoring this week- that's three evenings I am giving up-- why did I do it????? (oh yes, think of the money) Is it my imagination, or is the cost of living going up????
Next weekend is supposed to be the battle proms- out on the battle field. but this weather; constant rain, is really making the prospect unappealing.
God I am a moany old git today.
PS It's nearly my third blogiversary
PPS I posted this in the wrong place t begin with. That's how stupid I'm feeling today
Question and answer
Q: What's good for a hangover?
A: Drinking heavily the night before, apparently
Shhhh! Don't tell anyone but...
.. I am having a late night. My OH is in bed but I am not tired yet so I am staying up and watching a bit of BB live. Rachel has survived eviction and she is looking hot in that red dress dancing away. Kat looks like a cross between MC Hammer and a claw Hammer.
I have been out tonight with my mate. It is our once every two months night out. It i always good to catch up, but our local pub had a live band- well I say live, they were in their sixties so they were barely alive- and they were loud so it made talking really difficult. My throat is now raw from shouting! And they weren't even that good. I think they played the same dirge over and over again!
Anyway. Shhhhh. Keep the noise down as I don't want to wake the Missus. Ooops!
Today- the good and the bad of it
Today my OH and I took our friend out for lunch. At a quarter to 12 the weather was horrible- cold and wet, but by 12-15 it was warm and sunny. We had a nice lunch in Hastings old town- I had a surf and turf. Nice!
When we got back we played some more buzz. Addictive stuff.
Tonight I spoke to my mum. She broke her arm weeks ago and has been umming and aahing about whether to come to the Battle Proms (as we always go). Tonight she has just told us that she wont be able to come- she will still be in plaster. They are also going to give her tests for bone cancer- they say it's routine but it is still a wory considering her history.
That's my news of the day
Filing and Buzzing
Last night my OH and I went to see the new X-files Movie (review coming soon). WE do have the first one on DVD but it has been a while since we have seen it. We were both looking forward to it.
When we got there my OH got her ticket- and with it she was given a free copy of the first X-files Movie! Woohoo! Now we have two of them!
And then I go mine- clearly we were together- but I got given a free copy of the first movie too! Now we have three of them! I enjoyed the film although my OH was disappointed. And there were several people coming out moaning about it! What are they moaning about? DId they not get their free DVDs?
Today I found a new addiction. We bought the playstation3 Buzz TV game so we have been playing that all afternoon- and then I got online and was playing online!! So if you go online and find CJ592 is there---- THAT's ME! Plus it's another game that supports the new Trophies!!!!!
For LA Spice- You need a boyfriend because....
The first thing I do when I check the blog thing is to check the recent blogposts of my friends. I read the little bit of a snippet that is on the 'home' page to give me an indication.
But this Post from LA Spice had me needing to find out how the sentence ended.

Talk about the best place to end a sentence! What on earth can he think she wants lots of??
Twisted
I didn't sleep well last night. I have an odd ache all the way down the right side of my body, sometimes it tingles and sometimes it feels tight. I found I couldn't get comfortable at all and I found that the more I tried not to think about it, the more I thought about it. So I got up and watched some TV in the middle of the night to try and distract myself. Eventually I felt tired enough to get some sleep. It feels like I have twisted or strained a muscle or something- which I do sometimes when I am playing PS3 lying at a twisted angle on the sofa, I get muscle ache down my right side- Well I hope it's that!
Tonight my OH and I are going out- to see the X-files Movie!
Oh and talking of twisted- have you tried one of the creme egg bars? They are delicious!!!
That's a bit precise, isn't it?
I was looking at some cinema times for next week and the web site gave the following times.

Is it my imagination or are they now being really precise? What if I got there at 18:02, will they let me in?
When you are searching for a huge man eating flying lizard, what you really need is a member of a reggae band leading your team
Happy Sunday everyone.
Yesterday I went to the cinema and saw the new Mummy movie, review to come.
In the afternoon I watched some more of Rome series 1 (which someone lent me on DVD)- I am enjoying this. But that skull surgery---- yuk!
My OH and I also watched last weeks episode of Dexter (series 2)- which is shaping up to be a really good series!
Then yesterday evening I watched the Last Choir Standing- great stuff. After that I turned over and watched the end of the BBC2 proms program. It had Gareth Malone on it, from the Choir program. He had a challenge to sing with the Kings Singers- and they were really good!
So we watched that until 9. Then it was Big Brother until 10. And then we went to bed because we were both very tied.
And right now, my OH is at work and I am watching last weeks Monster Hunter. They are on the trail of a pterodactyl creature. Haha their guide- a Jamaican man- just got them lost in the jungle.
Josh Gate: Is everything ok
Guide: Things have changed
Josh: What's changed
Guide: These trees have gotten smaller since I was here last
Josh: Or this isn't the same place!
Josh Gates just said "When you are searching for a huge man eating flying lizard, what you really need is a member of a reggae band leading your team"
From Liberty City to El Dorado and a surprising trophy
I have finished GTA 4 (okay I know I've been playing it for months and most kids would have finished it in a weekend) and what a shock ending! Thoroughly enjoyable game and now I have high hopes for GTA 5.
And so today I started Uncharted:Drake's fortune. And I got a surprise- they have unlockable trophies! I knew that the PS3 was going to have trophies but I didn't know that they were going to do it so soon. Apparently it's only been available for a few days, but because I only started playing it today it came with the download!
So I now have an award for stealing treasure and blowing peoples heads off! Cool!
It's Ceefax day
It's 080808. The start of the olympics. I saw some of the opening ceremony on the news and it looked very spectacular.
2 days later...
... and I am tired.
Over the past two days I have had my brother staying with his wife and 5 (yes count them) 5 kids! You mothers are remarkable people and I take my hat of to you. Looking after kids is such hard work!
And my SIL has five! How she has any energy left is beyond me. It has been a good couple of days. They spent Wednesday here with us and we had a barbecue etc. Then today we spent the day in Hastings, with a picnic and spending time on the front. It really was nice.
But one of the good things about Uncledom is the 'handing them back' at the end.
Time for a glass of wine and a rest.
And to raise a toast to all mothers out there who don't get to give them back at the end! God bless you all, you deserve it!
My day is getting better and better
Ignoring the weird mail I got this morning, my day is getting better and better.
Firstly, my day out with my new friend went well. WE chatted and went to the cinema. And the best thing is... we may do it again before the holiday is out. Woohoo. Thumbs up for mates ![]()
Then I got home and found an email saying that the salsa classes are coming back to my local area. I haven't been dancing for months, but this could get me back in the swing ![]()
Then I had a crisp sandwich. It was yummy! I haven't had one in ages.
And now I have found out that Dale and Stuart are up for eviction in Big Brother. It's a win win situation there.
Wooohooo. What a day.
Dentist admission
I wasn't really looking forward to going to the dentist this afternoon, not because I am particularly scared of them but because I haven't been to see one for about 16 years. Don't ask me why, I've just never thought it was a priority. I certainly haven't been to one since my OH and I have been together (14 years)
So I was more nervous about how bad I'd let the state of my teeth get.
My OH had booked up or both of us to sign up to a new dentist and get checked up. She went in first. They gave her the OK, and booked her in for 6 months time.
Then I went in... and the dentist said my teeth were perfect! Woohoo! my next appointment is in a years time! My OH was astonished
My life is one long par..... zzzzzzzzz
I haven't posted much this weekend partly because I haven't known what to post. I went to see Batman, that was excellent. I haven't seen the X-files because I am hopefully saving that for this week. Oooh, that reminds me, I do have some news.....
Because on Tuesday I am going out. With someone I worked with. Someone gave me his number and said we should meet up to see a film... and I did. Would you believe I was there two years and people only start to talk to me the week I leave!
Other news........
I have a cold now
I am going to the dentist tonight
My life is one long party
Reviewing old files
This morning I deci
