Not the best time for a Gas leak- lucky I left the baby at home

by cj592 @ 2007-11-04 - 19:58:21

Yesterday evening was the Battel Bonfire. We strolled down at 7:15 to take our usualt spot outside the abbey green. At 7:45 we were told over the tannoy that there would be a delay due to a suspected...... GAS LEAK! A gas leak would be all we needed- lucky there was no naked flames around (except for those thousand flaming torches, two bonfires and hundreds of fireworks) Soon the gas leak incident was cleared up, only to be followed by a pregnant lady incident. An ambulance had to find it's way down the spectator filled street. On a related topic, my OH and I did see a young lady carrying a sleeping baby. We did think that that was slightly irresponsible
"This isn't the sort of thing to bring a baby to" MY OH said quite loudly
"I Agree" I shouted even louder "That is why I left our baby at home alone" I got quite a few strange looks at that moment. :)
AS always it was a grand evening, spoilt only by the ass-holes who decided to block the gateway to the field, and the announcer who kept reminding us every two minutes that they were there and they should move.
