I can never win on Tuesday- especially when driving to work. Ever since the bin man routine has changed, every Tuesday I have hassle with the bin lorries on the way to work. This morning I encountered 5! I am sure they just pop out on purpose! It's like in those old seventies TV cop shows- when Starsky and Hutch are trying to chase a villain and the bin van reverses to block the road. So are they out to get me? Or am I really living a freaky Seventies cop show reality? I don't know... perhaps I should ask Huggy Bear
It's been bad weather here. Which is worrying because my OH drove down to see her brother today. Thankfully she got there in one piece. She phoned a few minutes ago to say things were ok. Then I got a strange phone call from a Devonshire lad "Oy Oy. Put the kettle on, I'm at the bottom of the village" Me thinking it was my Brother in law just said "Yeah sure, why not! Come on over" Even though they are many many miles away. I then added "Who is this?" At which there was a silence and the person hung up! Ooo-er. A wrong number, and I just invited them round for tea.
In other news, my lamb has arrived. Not in a 'just dropped by unannounced with a suitcase' sort of way (although if it was a Devonshire lamb I may have just invited them over for a cup of tea) , nor in a 'man gives birth to sheep shocker' insane pregnancy sort of way, but in the 'just been slaughtered from my farmer friend' sort of way. This year I have gone for a whole half a lamb (can you say a whole half?) although I have just spent ages trying to fit it all into our freezer. There are many pieces and some look suspiciously like the plastic models you get in Biology labs in school. But they do look nice! I told my OH, and she also said it sounded nice... until I go and ruin it by adding "And what makes it better is that just a few months ago I was petting this lamb and I called it by name and it used to run after me bleating"
"Don't say that" she replied in horror! I don't know. It's only a lamb... or Freckles as we called it
