Strictly blog dancing

by cj592 @ 2007-09-30 - 15:57:49

I am sitting here watching last nights strictly come dancing show. Makes me wish I was dancing. I didnt go last week because I went to the theatre and this week I have a parents evening! :( Damn those parents evenings. I really want to get better at the dancing thing.
Anybody else watch this? What do people think about Brendan thingy? IS he a bit up himself?

Talking of dancing- I must admit, if it wasn't for the blogging I may not have continued doing it. I know it sounds odd, but some of the fun is describing the nights out on here.

Does anyone have a new hobby which they started whilst blogging and has found blogging about it made the hobby more enjoyable?

Or is it just me?

Sickness on the blog

by cj592 @ 2007-09-29 - 16:00:57

I'm sorry to hear that Subby is not feeling well, but I think I may know what is wrong with her. What with all her you-tube videos she likes to post I think she might be suffering from You-Tuberculosis!

And I think I know who's been spreading the new blue tongue virus amongst Britain's cattle. I believe it might be Paddy! He's got the bluest tongue I've ever heard ;)

Fancy a drink? Or a Film club?

by cj592 @ 2007-09-28 - 19:51:25

Glad the weekend is here. It has been a tiring week, what with being out on Tuesday and Wednesday. So here's to a relaxing two days

Anyone fancy a beer?

Or perhaps an in-depth analysis of Chaos theory

Oh man. What a hectic couple of days. I am so knackered

The Unenlightened

by cj592 @ 2007-09-23 - 19:44:22

This blog is about quizzes and questions and answers. I have mentioned before that I have been writing a few questions (102 apparently) for the facebook TV quiz thing. I even posted a few questions here yesterday.

And now I have the grand title of Enlightened Master (thanks to my team mates Gilraen, Subville and Chris Glos) but it has highlighted the fact that some of the people that answer are slightly less than enlightened. One of the good things about the application is that you can see the percentages of answers given to your questions.

And here are a few of mine....

This first question is from Ghost Whisperer.
quiz1
Now even if you don't know the answer you should be able to narrow it down to the first two options. So why oh why did someone pick option 3! Flash Gordon!! For crying out loud! At least no-one has said MSN Messenger (obviously Melinda's brother)

The next question is a Brookside question
quiz2
I just liked the idea that 3% of the voters think that not being a Scouser in Liverpool is considered shocking :)

My third question is about afterlife. A very powerful and gritty post watershed supernatural drama on ITV.
quiz3
So gritty in fact that someone thought that the writers had made Robert's serious condition a 'bad case of zits'. Quick someone, I am getting a message from the other side. It's a woman! Claire! Claire-o-sil!

My fourth question is a Doctor Who question. It says so when you get the question! With a big picture of the TARDIS on the banner.
quiz4
So it amused me greatly that someone thought that Thay, Caan, Jast and Sec were the members of the Queer eye team. Perhaps there is a Dalek version of it somewhere. "Exterminate... those curtains"

Oh well, I am sure I have answered some silly answers before, but it does make me laugh!

Some TV Trivia Questions

by cj592 @ 2007-09-22 - 15:44:32

I have been writing some questions for the facebook TV Trivia centre thingy, but if you are not on it, here are a few I put together in this little test space.

My Mum's special vase. A poem by CJ

by cj592 @ 2007-09-22 - 10:46:39

I haven't written a pome for ages, so I quickly penned this

My Mum's special vase
By CJ

I’m sitting on the step with a lolly in my hand
It’s made my fingers sticky, and my mummy says I’m banned
From touching her nice vase just in case I make it tacky
But dad’ll get it worse because it’s where he spits his ‘baccy!

Things CJ does to pass the time, 1 and 2.

by cj592 @ 2007-09-22 - 10:35:30

Number 1
I watch cookery shows just to hear them say the term 'Knob of Butter' then I snigger like a silly schoolboy!

Number 2
I went into Whittards this morning ...
ME: I'd like some tea please
Worker: What type would you like?

ME: Have you got Salt and Vinegar?

The skin trade, not enough faces and a surprising career option

by cj592 @ 2007-09-21 - 18:23:01

Last night I went dancing... and there's good news and bad news... and shocking news. The shocking news is that... Tiger Lady wasn't there! I was so gutted! I wonder what happened? Perhaps the cruel fur industry caught up with her and she ended up on the wrong end of a mans weapon (not for the first time I would imagine)
Anyway, I had a good evening with lots of dancing, met a few new and old faces... unfortunately there were not enough faces! And the teachers in charge decided that it wasn't economically viable to hold it in that location anymore :( Which means I can either go o the one that is several miles away (about 40 minute drive) or return to the seedy club and risk catching hepatitis from the congealed grease on the plastic table cloths. Because I don;t want to stop dancing now I have a taste for it. SO that's the bad news.
The good news is that the 'team' have asked if I want to join their crew of dancers. They think I have done very well and think I would make a good addition to their crew. That really perked me up. They think I am good enough to help teach others. I was flattered- and tempted. However it does meant that I join them on their evenings miles away. O what a to do!

Tonight I am going to go out. I will be picking my drinking buddy up at about 7 and we will be putting the world to rights. So I hope you all have a good night.

Yo Ho Home at last

by cj592 @ 2007-09-19 - 17:42:56

What a shivering me timbers type day it's been. Hopefully this cold is on it's way out. Although I have been sneezing a lot, I haven't managed to spray any of the kids (well not any of the nice ones) If am feeling much better tomorrow I will be able to go dancing.

Club CJ is really getting speed up now. Someone new spoke to me today... it's like Christmas it really is! However, on the down side, I now also have a lot of work to do. :( And I brought some home, which I hardly ever do.

And as for my TV trivia rating.... I am now MASTER

The Guru has spoken (he just didn't say a lot)

by cj592 @ 2007-09-18 - 19:09:48

I have had an odd day. My cold has gotten into my head and I have had a thumping headache. I have got the kind of bunged up feeling that affects your hearing and you have to keep swallowing to make your ears pop! Plus I have been feeling a bit wobbly

And before you say it, I am NOT hung over :P

I have a girls in my class who is making a bit of a name for herself as a real 'blonde'. In our first tutor session, she spent all of it colouring in her timetable with her felt tips.

I am now a guru! I bet you didn't know that. Well, according to the facebook TV quiz listy thing. My score just keeps going up. I think it's because I have written so many questions. Has anyone come across one of mine yet?

erm......

I think that's it for now.

Achooooooo!

by cj592 @ 2007-09-17 - 19:26:16

I hate having colds. My mouth feels all blistery and sore. And I wasn't able to eat all my dinner. :(
It seems to be worse in the evening.

And the worse thing is sneezing whilst driving.... You really don't want to see my windscreen!!

Sunday Mumbling

by cj592 @ 2007-09-16 - 18:15:22

What to do on a Sunday.

I managed to wrap some speakers that I bought off ebay. My Mum took a liking to ours when she was down and we managed to get a pair cheap on ebay. So they are wrapped.

I have spent quite a bit of time on Face Book, which I never thought I would do. I have added the TV Trivia thing and have been writing some questions. I notice that someone has tagged me U tv trivia afficionado and I assume it has something to do with face book. (My finger of blame points to ....... the Lady Subster). It has been interesting seeing how people answer my questions.

I have also being trying to overdose myself in cold remedy. I hate having a cold. My head feels all bunged up and I am sure that it will affect my singing. I might not be able to go to choir tomorrow. Did I say that I was back in the choir again? I am also hoping to start dancing again next week, but I am not sure how I am going to feel.
I have also done a bit of work, but not too much. I am not a great believer in working at home. I try and do as much as possible before coming home. Tomorrow should be OK, but there may be a meeting after school (Boooo)

How much longer can they drag out 'Last of the Summer Wine'?

Chatturday

by cj592 @ 2007-09-15 - 20:31:50

It's Saturday. I have had a stinking cold all day. I always seem to get them at the beginning of term. Must be the two 577 toilets worth of germs I teach on my computer.

Have been watching the X Factor. Why do some people think they can sing? Haven't they heard themselves? Watching Ant and Dec now. Is it just me or is it losing it's edge at the moment? Although I did enjoy the spelling thing. I never knew Dec had trouble with Diarrhoea!

I got my hair cut today. Nothing special- normal grade 2 all over. it was getting long again. Also went to the cinema to see Superbad and Shoot 'em up. Reviews on their way. Tomorrow am going to stay in and do some work

I managed to sell those tickets on ebay at last. There was also another problem with an item I bought which never arrived. But the seller had proof of posting. I am sure the post is getting worse. A bit like Bin men. I wonder if the Bin Men will come next week? If they dont then it will be six weeks without collection.

What's everyone doing tonight then?

Just caught up in the drama

by cj592 @ 2007-09-15 - 08:22:51

There is drama a brewing at my OH's work. Our neighbours, whom my OH used to work for, sold their cafe to other people (The Greeks). But there was a problem with a payment of stock. Now our neighbours have issued a summons to the Greeks, but the Greeks don't know about it yet.

My OH is at work at the moment, and the postman has just been. There are two Magistrates letters for the Greeks just been delivered.

What not to ask a camp waiter

by cj592 @ 2007-09-14 - 21:41:10

When I got back from work this evening, after a long and tiring week, I said to my OH "D'you fancy going out somewhere different for dinner?" We don't often go out, and when we do it's always down the road where we know what the food is like. But there have been many pubs in the area that we have driven past and thought 'that looks nice, we must try there one day'
And so tonight I took my OH out for dinner, somewhere new.
It's always nice to try new places- with different menus and new things to try. The place we went to had quite a lot of things that sounded nice, but there were quite a few things that were sold out- which is quite disappointing. The waiter (who was quite camp) was a bit pushy and I got a bit flustered. What I wanted to know was if the crab tartlet starters were still available, however, when I was pushed for a decision I accidentally asked this...."Do you have crabs?"

I can't believe I said that!

My OH jumped in to my rescue and added 'The starter that is.'

I dread to think what the camp waiter thought!

Time for me to reveal......

by cj592 @ 2007-09-14 - 17:41:14

... my new glasses
Seeing as others are doing it, although I have been a bit more shy about revealing mine. Even though I was told that celebrities have the same style, this isn't quite what I was expecting.

Lohan Behold

by cj592 @ 2007-09-13 - 20:15:11

According to this report, Lindsay Lohan is in trouble again for drink driving

Lohan in new drink-driving claim
Police ruled out any paparazzi involvement in the crash
Actress Lindsay Lohan is due back in court next April over claims that she was drunk at the wheel during a car accident in October 2005.

lohan_wideweb__430x283

Apparently Lohan said that it wasn't her being drunk that caused the trouble, but the car... it seemed to have a mind of it's own!!!!

Napped

by cj592 @ 2007-09-13 - 19:40:16

It's been a long tiring day. So tiring in fact that when I came home I fell asleep on the sofa. So not only did I teach all lessons today, but I had duty in break and lunch times so I didn't have a break all day.

Roll on tomorrow

Lover's Lane and George Michael's Camp

by cj592 @ 2007-09-12 - 18:01:52

My OH and I have just been out for a walk. This time we went down to the A-Ha log, where we found a wig wham which wasn't there last time we went down there. I have added its location (and that of Lover's Lane- named due to the amount of Condoms we saw) to the map

SamAqua

by cj592 @ 2007-09-11 - 17:29:46

It seems that my favourite pink twins Samanda from Big Brother are going to release a cover version of Aqua's Barbie Girl
twin peaks
These girls are gorgeous and I'm afraid I am fickle enough to buy it.
I can't do say anything against these girls because it would be the same as kicking a puppy if I did!

Morning Drill

by cj592 @ 2007-09-09 - 09:20:01

I was going to have a nice lie in this morning, because I have been feeling so knackered. And then at 8:40am.... DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Someone's using a drill or some kind of heavy duty industrial noise making machine.
DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Damnit! I have to get up, I can't sleep with it.
So I got up. at 8:55, whilst making my morning tea.... they only bloody stopped!

Service Bindustry is second class

by cj592 @ 2007-09-08 - 11:07:23

I am getting really irritated by certain 'services' in our area. Namely, the Binmen and the post (Although I may be being a bit unfair on the postman)
If you remember two weeks ago, the Binmen didn't collect our rubbish. Which means it could have been possible for that rubbish to have been rotting away in there for about three weeks. Our bin collection is supposed to be this new regime where one week they collect eh household waste and the next week it's the recycling. Anyway, if we hadn't taken the rubbish to the tip, then the chance is it would still be there until it was collected last week. Except once again they didn't collect the rubbish! AGAIN! That is ridiculous. Which would mean that the rubbish will have to be there for another fortnight- making a possibility of a bag of rubbish being there for five weeks! There is no way that is hygienic!

And as for the post, well we have had no post delivered for three days. Now it is possible that his may be because we have actually had no post to be delivered, but this would be unusual because we often get junk or bank stuff. But to have no post for three days is annoying. Especially because I am expecting about 6 items, three of which I have been told have been sent (more ebay problems on the way). This is so annoying.

That's my moaning over.

I hope everyone is having a good moaning... er morning.

Walk the Dogwalk, Charlie Brown

by cj592 @ 2007-09-08 - 08:02:25

Flicking through the Yahoo news site I came across this. It is a set of photo's from a fashion shoot based on snoopy. Yes! Snoopy has taken to the cat...er.... dogwalk.
fash1
Now can you imagine wearing this walking down the high street in town? And how do you accessorise? Perhaps this is a push to get everyone to dress as there old cartoon heroes. If I wait long enough, perhaps there will be a Captain Caveman collection.
However I see that it is not only the snoopy characters that came out for the show. Because going through the photo's I came across these designers
fash2
All I can say is... time hasn't been kind to Fred and Daphne from Scooby Doo! :)

Ebay bollox

by cj592 @ 2007-09-07 - 17:36:55

Well It has been about five days since I sold a particular item. I have contacted the buyer a few times as suggested by my friends here (thanks for all your advice) And then today I received this

I DO APOLOGISE BUT IVE BEEN AWAY ON HOLIDAY AND WASN'T AWARE THAT A CERTAIN MEMBER OF MY FAMILY BIDDED FOR THESE. ERM IS IT POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO RELIST THEM. IM SO SORRY ABOUT THIS. THANKS

Boo Hiss!
So I have started the unpaid proceedings mostly because I don't want to be charged for a non sale. I have also left a negative feedback. Which will probably mean I will get one in return, Ebay is turning bitter at the moment

Chatting about fridges, Bradies and Chiefs

by cj592 @ 2007-09-06 - 21:24:14

I'm going to chatter about nothing
We have a brand you giant in the kitchen. Our new Fridge Freezer is here and it is huuuuuuuge. 7Ft tall! Our old fridge is at the moment in the dining room. And it seems tiny now.

I have been watching A very Brady Sequel. I really like these films Brady Movie / Brady sequel. So clever I think.

Our tickets for the Kaiser Chiefs concert have arrived. We will be seeing them in December. There is still no news on the ebay sale. Not even an email from the bidder. And because they are tickets I don't have long to sell them.

I've also been watching quite a lot of BBC4 lately. And I never thought I'd say that! There have been several programs relating to the 50 year anniversary of the Wolfenden Report. Very interesting social history stuff. Cool!

What do Jesus, Dirty Den and Gillespie from Morph have in common?

by cj592 @ 2007-09-06 - 17:26:58

What do Jesus, Dirty Den and Gillespie from Morph have in common?

They have all come back from the dead.
The last time we saw Gillespie (The blue one) he was lying face down with a pencil stuck in his back. But now he seems to have made a remarkable recovery

im alive

However, I think the three of them probably have had different reactions to there resurrections. I believe Jesus' got a favourable response to his afterlife activities, whereas Dirty Den's was more negative. I wonder if Gillespie will create a favourable response? Perhaps a religion will form? Seventh Day Blogventists perhaps?

Ebay question

by cj592 @ 2007-09-05 - 16:31:36

I have been selling a few things on ebay recently. I haven't had any problems with people so far. People tend to pay very quickly- Paypal has made that very easy. And when I buy something I always pay instantaneously- through Paypal. I am proud of my 100% positive rating. But recently I sold an item and the person who bought it hasn't paid, or even replied to an email. So what I want to know is. ...
1) How long is a worrying amount of time to wait without a payment being made
2) How many polite reminding emails can I send before I appear pushy?

I only want to know because this item has a time restriction and if they don't pay I am running out of time to resell it.

Sore throat

by cj592 @ 2007-09-04 - 18:05:58

Damn I've got a sore throat. It must be all that talking I have to do. It always happens at the beginning of every year.

So excuse me if my typing seems a bit hoarse!
