Wish me a rotten week

by cj592 @ 2007-04-29 - 18:38:13

After all those wonderful wishes last week for a good week ahead ended up in a really stressful week, I have decided to play fate at it's own game. So what I want you to do is wish me a rotten week, and then fate will give me a great week. The more rotten wishes I get, the better my week will be.

The fate of my next week is in your hands.

Flowing

The wine is now flowing, and I am getting nicely.... merry.

A drunken June Whitfield and happy slapping with dildos

by cj592 @ 2007-04-29 - 10:37:34

We had a lovely night out. We took the train into London. Near Tonbridge a group of very loud Teenagers got on and delighted in regailing each other with tales of Happy Slapping bus drivers with Dildos (yobs!). Was so delighted when they left the train!

When we got into London, we spent a bit of time trying to find the theatre and then went for dinner. We went to a lovely Italian Restaurant. I had a Seafood risotto with mussels and squid. It was very nice! And sitting in the restaurant at another table, was someone that I work with! What are the cahcnes of that happening. They came and said hello, but that was okay because she is one of the few nicer members of staff there.

As for the show..... I was peasantly surprsied by it. After loving the film and reading reports that the show was different (more like a ballet) I wasn't sure how I would like it. The plot was similar to the film, but the musical numbers were mostly very different, apart from the very excellent 'come up to my place'- which took plcace in a yellow framed taxi! The Ballet sequences were very well done as were all the musical numbers - I especially liked the scenes set in the night clubs! There were some great comic moments and scenes and the acting was superb- especially from June Whitfield, playing the drunken dance teacher- (and a surprising but too brief appearance from Janine Duvitski) The best character by far was Hildy- the cab driver! It was definitely worth the trip (even if the ticket prices were extortionate)- shame the theatre wasn't full.

The Journey home wasn't eventful but we did devour a whole tube of Pringles.
