As in the horns of a dilemma, for it is a dilemma that I have.
The thing is this....
I like football, but I'm not 'fanatical' about it. I support Liverpool (as you know) and I would enjoy going to see them play, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go to lots of games. In fact I think I'd much prefer to go to my dance class. And this is where the problem lies.
My friend, a Tottenham Supporter, bought me a ticket to the Spurs/Bolton match for Easter Monday. It was a birthday present for me. And I was really looking forward to it. A day out, enjoy the match and have a bite to eat there- make the day of it. And he was looking forward to it as were his sons. (One of which was home from America for a week)
But they went and postponed the match! For a Thursday evening! (10th May) I didn't think it a problem, seeing as it was the clubs fault for changing the date, I assumed there would be some sort of refund available. Surely this would happen to many people, especially if there are loads of people who work during the week!!!
But No! The club are not responsible (Don't see how) and the ticket is now valid for that Thursday evening only- no refunds or ticket changes allowed.
Last night my mate phoned me to see if I minded cancelling my dance class for that evening.
The problem is, the match is in London on a weekday evening (work the next day s I could be very tired) and it means missing the class I enjoy. It's not that I don't want to go, but it would make a tiring day/evening/next day, and I am not that bothered about it. I would have really enjoyed making the day of it, like we did last time (that was Spurs v Liverpool). But I know he was excited about getting me this ticket for my birthday, and I will probably enjoy it if I go, but it will be the last week of the dance class. So the dilemma is shall I go or not
Dammit! Next year I will ask for socks!
