  • Further back.... even further..... It's Monday!

Back home and it's been quite a good day. I managed to get to my Choir Practice this week- aargh! Next week is the performance! I told my OH that I may be able to just stand at the back to merge in with the others. and she said "They told you to stand at the back. I can imagine it. 'Further back....back some more... back some more... yes open the door... back some more... and some more.... and keep going up the street!'"

I had another meeting about the Holland trip that's coming up. Should be good. Can't wait until study leave... a bit lighter on my timetable :)

  • Wish me a rotten week

After all those wonderful wishes last week for a good week ahead ended up in a really stressful week, I have decided to play fate at it's own game. So what I want you to do is wish me a rotten week, and then fate will give me a great week. The more rotten wishes I get, the better my week will be.

The fate of my next week is in your hands.

  • Flowing

The wine is now flowing, and I am getting nicely.... merry.

    Heehee.

  • A drunken June Whitfield and happy slapping with dildos

We had a lovely night out. We took the train into London. Near Tonbridge a group of very loud Teenagers got on and delighted in regailing each other with tales of Happy Slapping bus drivers with Dildos (yobs!). Was so delighted when they left the train!

When we got into London, we spent a bit of time trying to find the theatre and then went for dinner. We went to a lovely Italian Restaurant. I had a Seafood risotto with mussels and squid. It was very nice! And sitting in the restaurant at another table, was someone that I work with! What are the cahcnes of that happening. They came and said hello, but that was okay because she is one of the few nicer members of staff there.

As for the show..... I was peasantly surprsied by it. After loving the film and reading reports that the show was different (more like a ballet) I wasn't sure how I would like it. The plot was similar to the film, but the musical numbers were mostly very different, apart from the very excellent 'come up to my place'- which took plcace in a yellow framed taxi! The Ballet sequences were very well done as were all the musical numbers - I especially liked the scenes set in the night clubs! There were some great comic moments and scenes and the acting was superb- especially from June Whitfield, playing the drunken dance teacher- (and a surprising but too brief appearance from Janine Duvitski) The best character by far was Hildy- the cab driver! It was definitely worth the trip (even if the ticket prices were extortionate)- shame the theatre wasn't full.

    taxi

The Journey home wasn't eventful but we did devour a whole tube of Pringles.

  • On the Town.

Tonight we are going 'on the town'... ooh ooh. To literally see 'on the town'. We have tickets for the show, so that should be a really nice night out!

  • Ever had one of those days?

    stabbed

I knew that blog image would come in useful. After all I seem to have been staring at it for ages tonight!

  • Shit week over

I am even more glad to see the back of this week than I was to see the back of last week.
Today was shit! People I work with are shit! I like the job and the kids( well most of 'em... well, some of 'em) but I am so lonely.

Just want to move on now, but there are no jobs except in Scottishland.

So who's gonna be the first to say next week will be great?

Maybe I shall do what Juzz did and quit!

  • A literary question

Do you think that the term 'Pooh Sticks' was actually first phrased by Tigger from behind the bushes?

  • You make me feel like dancing.... I'm gonna dance the girl away... right out of the window!

You make me feel like dancing.... I'm gonna dance the girl away... right out of the window!

Back from my weekly torture. And the Four Horsewomen of the apocalypse were back! And they wre just as bad and tiddly as usual. But it didn't seem to matter this week because we were all bad!!! It was sooooo tough. We had to do this twiddly bit and then the spinny bit and then it went into the Titanic- where you end up in the famous position that Jack and Rose were in on the pointy end of the ship (and not the position they were in in the steamy car!) Unfortunately, we ended up looking more like the position of the ship after it hit the iceberg!!!!!
And then the woman had to do a wiggly bit and raise her leg.. whilst the man had to remember to move his legs apart or it could have been painful! Then it got difficult... a lot more twirly bits and it ended up with the bit where the man had to pull the woman across to the other side... unfortunately I am getting a reputation for being a bit of a 'strong' lead.... and some of my partners have been catapulted a bit further than anticipated!!!
They are getting a safety net for me next week!!!

I thought I would share a picture of me and the dancers... guess which one is me :)
    dance troup

  • Rush Rush Hurry Hurry Slow slow Quick Quick Slow

Rush Rush Hurry Hurry Slow slow Quick Quick Slow

This is a quickie to say hello. Just got in because I was in detention. Just rushed dinner, now will rush a bath so I can rush out and go dancing.

It has been a busy day- because it was JMC day and I had to organise the whole thing (as is my responsibility) Could have done without it after yesterday!

Maybe I will have a more relaxing week next week. Next Week I am intending to go to Iraq in the same Troup as someone called Harry Windsor, but I doubt there will be any trouble there.

    See you later

  • Things my OH says part 5

WHen listening to the news that said "50% of lories on the road are unsafe"

    OH:Fifty percent, but that's almost a half!

  • Inky ,Stinky, ne- printez Moi!

    Aaaaaaargh! Damnit!
I have lots to print out and my printer has just run out of black ink!

Anyone got Hero powers and willing to fly tound and give me one?

Then I can find some ink from somewhere

At the moment I am on the old lap top that my OH uses. I have just downloaded her email... all 98 pieces of it! So much Viagra! 88|

  • Midnight Oil

looks like I will be burning the midnight oil at both ends tonight.

Can midnight oil be burned at both ends?

    Wish me luck

If I have time and there is anough Midnight oil left in the middle, I may blog again later.

but until then i have perfectionist work to do

  • Watch the LCD monitors and then check the Plasma coils

Okay, so the title might sound a bit Star Trek, but I do have an LCD/Plasma related question.
Does anyone out there have a HD TV? what do you recommend? Plasma or LCD?

  • Out of all the plagues, the plague of locusts is by far my favourite

Last night was good fun, and boy did we get a bit tiddly. I blame the Apple Sour shots we kept downing at the end of the evening. I had my old favourite Half shoulder of lamb, and my OH had fish and salad :??:

So what do we think of Doctor Who? Martha Jones is coming on well, but does she really have to have a crush on the Doctor? And I am starting a campaign to get Talulah as an assistant! She was brilliant! Shame there were noe singing daleks (Maybe I will wait for Doctor Who the Musical to hit the stage), but a dalek human oooooh!

Today I saw The Reaping- a supernatural thriller type film which encorporates the Plagues of Egypt, and I must admit out of all the plagues, the plague of locusts is by far my favourite (Which is a sentence I never thought I'd say)

Back to work tomorrow, I hope I have a better week than last week. I am trying to think positive!

  • Greek friends and singing daleks

Actually I am not sure about the singing daleks, but I heard there was a dacne routine in the next two parter and it would be so fuuny to see the daleks involved :))
I am off out tonight with my OH, as we are having dinner with her boss, the Greek. We're not going to his place this time, but to the pub. So it should be good fun.
I am trying to feel a bit more positive at the moment, especially after the down week I have just had- it sees that everyone has had a bit of a tough week.

  • Just finished the Sea

Watching Sea of Souls that is. Seeing as I was out last night I though I would tape it! And boy was it worth it, what a great story (even if it was a complete rip off of the film, The Skeleton Key)
    Great show

  • If a Crunchie were here, I would be thanking it

    It's Friday.

It has been quite a difficult week really. I am tired and in need of a good nights sleep.
I hope next week is better

  • The Dancing Wounded and the Four Horsewomen of the Apocalypse

Oh well, here is my weekly account of tonight’s exploits.... I know you all wait eagerly for these little gems.
But tonight I am walking wounded. I have battle scars after my tussle with the tiger lady. Yes, she managed to cut my finger with one of her long false nails. I am surprised that the ends haven’t been dipped in Rohypnol as I imagine that is how she lures prey to her den.
But the tiger lady was not the only adversary I had tonight... oh no. For tonight I have woes. In fact this is the first lesson when I have come back a little vexed.
Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed it, and there is a wonderful man turn from a cross over which is brilliant- it works so well. But...
well let me start from the beginning.... I went to the beginner’s session again. The Tiger Lady was there and this time her moaning was worse... and started immediately. boy did she go on, but I tried to filter her out.
The session was great fun as before, and then came the four horsewomen of the Apocalypse. They were, from what I could gather, a family of sorts. Four women who were obviously out for a good time. They had done the beginners class like me last time and were trying the intermediate one for a challenge. However, they were obviously less intent on getting things right as they were to getting a bit tiddly and making pratts of themselves. Which is fine I suppose.

    {And now it sounds like I am going to moan... perhaps I have been bitten by the radioactive tiger lady and am now slowly turning into her... like in Spiderman}

But unfortunately, because there was a lack of men this week (again) the female dance 'leader' had to be a 'man' for the evening. Which meant that I couldn't practice the moves with a 'professional' {the other female leader was ill}. In fact I seemed to get lumbered a lot with the horsewomen... who didn’t seem to worry about whether they were getting the moves right at all. Which made it difficult for me, because I was wanting to learn and get better... but I couldn’t because of the partners I had.
I still had a good time, but I feel I didn’t do as well as I could have done :(
There, that’s my moan over. Now where’s my fake tan and false nails.... aaaaaargh!

  • Is that an Icon? No, it's a pickle!

What a messy git I am.

I was just eating a ham and pickle sarnie and I sneezed!

And sprayed pickle over the monitor

  • I like Thursdays

It is my lightest teaching day, with some primary school work.

And I get to go dancing.

    Cool.

  • To lose a friend is hard

I'm not really in the greatest of moods. And it's hard to explain why. I have mentioned before that I have not got a great many friends at work, and I find it difficult to make friends with people, I think it is because in real life I am quite shy. Plus the staff are quite cliquey (in their own groups) and what with all the staff room politics there has been a lot of resentment towards management and changes.
So all in all I have found it hard to fit in.
But I did make one friend. Someone I chat to about non work related things. Today he told me he was leaving, because he didnt like the way the staff are towards him.
And that has made me a bit low for some reason. The one person I get on with is gonna leave.
    Damn.

  • Aaah. Souls

Just thought I'd say Yippeee! Sea of Souls returns tonight. Now that life on Mars is over.

Just gonna sit back, relax with my OH some wine and a nice roast dinner. Gonna Watch Castaway. I totally enjoy this, even though it has been slated!

    Enjoy your evenings :)

  • Protective clothing for school

It's not safe going to school these days. And now clothing companies are going to create something to help keep the kids safer. Stab proof school uniforms.

Stab-proof hoodies lined with the same body armour used by British squaddies in Iraq are now on sale in Britain to protect trendy teens threatened by soaring knife crime.

And plans are underway for the Kevlar-lined clothes range to be extended to school uniforms.

    Taken from www.LSE.co.uk

What is the world comin to when kids have to wear riot gear in class! What with that and the recent Horrific events in Virginia, it is not safe even being a teacher! But we don't wear school uniform! So what protection do we get?

    ....
    ....
    ....

Hold ON I think I have a solution.... I knew they would come in useful!

    Bullet_Proof_Ties_Title_Bar

Haha, and you all thought it was a silly idea!

  • Knackeroonie

    End of the day.
    Knackered.

    Zzzzz.

  • That Sunday evening feeling

Easter Holidays are over and I have definitely got that Sunday Evening feeling. I dont know why I feel so nervous, this is a job I have been doing for ages.
This term has got plenty in store, I have a busy two weeks in front of me- lots of planning! Then I have to organise this trip to Holland which I am really looking forward to. I did get a Hollish phrase book, but I couldnt understand it- it was all dutch to me.

    Anyhoo... did anyone see yesterday's Doctor Who? I thought it was ace- better than the Shakespeare one- although were quite a few people who fould it disappointing. THe Face's last words were not unexpected, but what does it mean? I saw the BBC3 program afterwards and the whole 'he is definitely the last one, but he is not alone- it is something in the middle' statement is quite a conundrum! Cool stuff. but did they have to kill the Face off? Poor Boe :( :DD {Spot the fanboy}

And it is Lost tonight. Hopefully it will all start making sense tonight..... but I am not holding my breath :D

What are the rest of us doing this evening?
We have a bottle of wine open

  • OH is UH

Ever since my OH found out about her condition she has been down in the dumps. She tells me that she is OK but she looks visibly drained and unhappy. And she has changed her diet, but for every lettuce leaf she has she looks miserable. I have told her that there is no point making yourself unhappy like that, because that ill stress you our just as much.
Actually today she has looked a little bit better.

We shared some chocolate. Just a bit :)

Nice to see her smile again

  • Boe Face and Saxon

THis afternoon I spent some time relaxing watching the first two episodes of this series of Doctor Who. The episdoes are so much better on the second viewing.

Tonights episode is set on New Earth and features the Face of Boe! Will we get to hear his message? Will he die if he does? RTD says the after effects will echo on for a while.
I must admit I have been a bit blind to this series' meme. I only found out about the Saxon thing by readin about it online. But now I know, I can watch out for it.

And don't forget, tonights episode is on later at 7:40

  • Tender is the night..er.. morning

shh. Turn the lights down and speak with a whisper please. I appear to have acquired a strange headache during the night

  • The decision has been made

Just got in from anotehr evening out. I went out for dinner with my mate, who bought me the Spurs ticket which is now only valid for Thursday 10th May. And I had a decision to make, and, when he eventually brought up the subject I told him that I had decided to............ go with him and his sons to the match. When I told himw that his little eyes lit up and he said "That's great news. Thank you" Good mates are hard to come by and we will enjoy it regardless. Plus an evening match is a new experience, and I am all for new experiences this year. I know that it means I will miss the last lesson in this series of dance classes, but (on the bright side) it does give me an extra reason to book up for the next series.

But right now I am stuffed with lamb and banoffee pie, and a little bit tiddly on lager, wine and whiskey.

So does anyone wnt to dance?

  • Religious confectionery

After seeing Prydwen's latest funny offering about the chocolate Pope made me wonder if there is a market for religious confectionery.
Perhaps there could be a milk tray of the twelve disciples. My favourite being the Judas Iscaramel
OR maybe you can buy some Dalai Larsbars
And there's the very catholic Papal Fruits- made to make your mouth holy!
Or if you were truly religious you could buy the Ten CommandMints

Hmm, I think I may go on Dragon's Den with this idea.

PS: If the Pope had got Easter Eggs, would his Cardinals have said "Here's your Eggs, Benedict"

  • CJ the Breast Slayer and the attack of the Tiger Lady

Well last night I went to the dance class. I started off doing the beginners class again (because I enjoyed it) which is follwed by the intermediate class.
And goes who turned up....... MEN! Yes for some reason this set of classes had a 50/50 split of men and women- which made a change from the last lot.
And they were a complete set of new faces... except for one very familiar leapord skinned, fake tanned and false nailed individual. Oh yes! The tiger lady was back!
The beginners class went smoothly, and even though I knew the moves, I still picked up a few tips just from incidental comments, like how to hold hands and stand properly- so it was worth while.
Before the intermediate class there was opportunity for some freestyle dancing. I normally sit ou of this because I am quite shy about asking strangers to dance, but guess who wasn't shy... Yes, the tiger lady! Now I felt so unsure, as she took my hand and she led me to the dance floor (no wait. that's careless whisper). But she was impressed by the moves I remembered. There, I knew she was after me for my mind!
Then the intermediate class started- and man was that totally different to the beginners. It was high impact and intense! It was about learning a set- lots of twists and turns and throwing women this way and that way with arms fliying all over the place, which did lead to some embarrassing moments when my hands accidentally hit a few boobs! (it was accidental honest!) I think at some point we hit the wall (not in the 'London Marathon' way, but actually because we were too close to the wall). And even though we were still passing our partners on, there was one person I seemed to end up with a lot.... yes. The Tiger lady. And now she was beginning to irritate me. Because at one point when the instructor was trying to decide what moves to put together, tiger lady decided to use the inactive moment to moan and whinge about the style of teaching. And man did she bitch the poor guy. And to be honest I totally switched off, because I am not interested in bitching, I was there to learn and enjoy. I wanted to find the volume switch on her and turn it off. So I did the only thing I could do, started nodding and saying 'yes' at the appropriate moments but totally ignored what she was moaning about. Silly Cah!
But I totally enjoyed the class even though it was intense. I was told I did well, which is always nice to hear. I was even told that I might be good enough to join the 'team'. Woohoo!
Maybe I'll go again next week.

  • Get on those dancing shoes

Someone has tagged me with 'get on those dancing shoes' :D

Haha. I have just been on a tagging rampage ;)

Well. My (dancing) shoes are polished. Shirt ironed, suit pressed and I am ready to face the hordes and dance my little butt off- seriosly if you find my butt on the floor, please return it (you may need to hire a haulage firm)

I wonder if the old crew will be there: Tiger woman- Janet street Porter- Verne from Catherine Tate- Jane from Eastenders and Mad scary drunk girl. We'll have to wait and see.

  • Stolen place mats

Borrowed from Random very random who stole it from Steve P.

The idea is you list places you have been with a one line comment

Hastings – bit drab, could do with a lick of paint
Derby- Great pubs, great ghosts but dull for tourists. Too many beans.
York- Wonderfully historic and I got an extra sausage
Exeter- Fab University but went to sleep too early
Plymouth (Near union street) – Food at 4am! Stab vest recommended
Plymouth (the Hoe and Barbican.- Nice and chips!
    London- Big lights and scary
Paris- Just like Blackpool but bigger
Blackpool- Nice tower, lots to do and Little and Large
    Norway- cold and misty, expensive
Morocco- Smells like a camels crotch- possible due to the camels crotches
Rome- Hot, sweaty and full of Romans
    Vatican City- Nice pyjamas mate.
Crete- Hot with grey eggs and warm orange squash

  • You want me. Nibble me. Take me.

After spending some time ironing this morning- The old iron I use is annoying, it makes a horrible grating noise whenever you turn the steam function on, but I much prefer it to the new one I got my OH, which looks like a space station from star trek. I am half expecting the Ferenghi to turn up to steal it from me.- I decided to go to Tesco's to get a little shopping for my OH's return. I want her to think that I hav been looking after myself and the place, and not picking on all junk food for the past few days.

And that is when I saw the words.... "You want me. Nibble Me. Take me" written on the packets of munchies. I love munchies and those words are just too tempting, and surprisingly accurate. I really did want some munchies just then!

    munchies2

    Hmmm. Munchie anyone?

PS: Who says I am easily led by blatant advertising gimmicks?

  • Note to self....

    Note to self.
I must remember that in normal polite conversation with acquaintances, if someone says "Thanks, I owe you one" you must not, I repeat NOT, reply "Sure, and I'll let you give me one"

    {knocks head on table}

  • Which wire was it?

I need to charge up my Ipod, but I can never find the charger.

Which of these was it again?

    wiremare

  • Mishy Mash of Dreams, Orange Wednesdays and Bin Men

Last night I went to see a preview of 'Shooter'. I hvaent been on a wednesday evening before, normally on the weekend during the day. I was surprised how many students were there using the Orange Wednesdays 2for1 offer. It must be quite a popular deal.

When I got back I watched Fun with Dick and Jane on sky. I'm not sure I like this new sky movies system- it just seems like a way of showing less films more times over the week!

Went to bed and had quite a scary dream. My OH was driving back with my 11 year old nephew. I get a call from her saying that there was a tiny accident as she had let the nephew drive the car for a bit and he had clipped the car and caused an accident. They were both OK but the damage to the car was worth £28.000! Then we kinda haad an argument, which is odd because we hardly ever argue in real life. I was so relieved when I woke up.

And today I have to tidy the house up a bit. Not that it is a real mess, I don't go totally slobby when my OH isn't here, but it is noticable when the place hasn't had a woman's touch! ;) And then I will do some ironing. And put the bin out... no wait things have changed. Grr, I hate bank holidays because they ruin the bin-men routine. Now does Easter count as two bank holiday days? does that mean the binmen won't be around until Monday?

And tonight the dancing starts again!

  • Do ray me far so la te D'oh!

    From the news:

The organiser of a Devon music festival has spoken of her horror at seeing a £45,000 grand piano fall off the back of a removal firm's lorry.

Any one want to buy a cheap piano? It fell of the back of a lorry!

About 100 supporters of the Two Moors Festival had raised money for the piano which was to be a main attraction at Penny Adie's home near South Molton.

100 supporters? sounds like a massive turn out for that festival then ;)

So has anyone ever had an accident and broken anything expensive? I adon't think I have, but I always feel very self-conscious when it comes to walking round shops with expensive china and stuff

  • Oooh.... this is horny!

As in the horns of a dilemma, for it is a dilemma that I have.

    The thing is this....
I like football, but I'm not 'fanatical' about it. I support Liverpool (as you know) and I would enjoy going to see them play, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go to lots of games. In fact I think I'd much prefer to go to my dance class. And this is where the problem lies.
My friend, a Tottenham Supporter, bought me a ticket to the Spurs/Bolton match for Easter Monday. It was a birthday present for me. And I was really looking forward to it. A day out, enjoy the match and have a bite to eat there- make the day of it. And he was looking forward to it as were his sons. (One of which was home from America for a week)
But they went and postponed the match! For a Thursday evening! (10th May) I didn't think it a problem, seeing as it was the clubs fault for changing the date, I assumed there would be some sort of refund available. Surely this would happen to many people, especially if there are loads of people who work during the week!!!
But No! The club are not responsible (Don't see how) and the ticket is now valid for that Thursday evening only- no refunds or ticket changes allowed.
Last night my mate phoned me to see if I minded cancelling my dance class for that evening.
The problem is, the match is in London on a weekday evening (work the next day s I could be very tired) and it means missing the class I enjoy. It's not that I don't want to go, but it would make a tiring day/evening/next day, and I am not that bothered about it. I would have really enjoyed making the day of it, like we did last time (that was Spurs v Liverpool). But I know he was excited about getting me this ticket for my birthday, and I will probably enjoy it if I go, but it will be the last week of the dance class. So the dilemma is shall I go or not

Dammit! Next year I will ask for socks!

  • One hour video

She got there safely and we have spent the last hour chatting over MSM video link.

Glad she got there safely. Now I can download porn sleep easy tonight

  • The Juggernaut Sandwich

    Half way and all's well.

Actually she didn't get a chance to stop at the service station on the M27 as by the time the turning came up, she was sandwiched between two lorries and couldnt make the turn.

I once had a horrible incident with lorries on a Motorway. I was sandwiched in between two (one on the left and one on the right ?!?- where they shouldnt have been!) then the one on the right started to indicate and pull in- perhaps they hadnt seen me but I was about to be squished (and I was only driving a mini Metro)
I couldnt speed up as they we going quite fast.

I did the only thing I could do, and that was slow down. The lorry carried on moving into my lane!

    bastard

  • A couple of hours of nervous tension

At least for the next five hours. My OH is off on her way to her brothers again. This wouldn't bother me as much now, she has done it before. But this time, just before she went, she had a pain in her chest.

I will just have to wait for a phone call now

  • Happy Easter, Dot... oops spoke too soon!

    Happy Easter Monday from Eastenders.

Oh what joy there is to behold, Easter is a time to relax and enjoy time with your family... isn't it Dot.
A nice trip away to where you were happy as a child- the Hopfarms where you spent your Summer. Oh no, when you get there the farm has gone and there is an asylum centre in its place. (Or was it an old folks home?) But son't worry Dot, you can go and visit the church- you liked the guy that was the vicar there, but wait.. the vicar has gone and the new vicar is a .... Woman (shock horror  ) and the picture of Jesus is a blob!
But don't worry Dot, you can go and visit that old friend of yours that you got a Christmas card... no wait. She died two weeks ago! But that's Ok, Dot, her son still lives there, and you were proud of him, being ordained as a priest... But wait, he lost his faith and seems to have turned into Dennis Pennis!

Oh Eastenders... you know how to fill a bank holiday full of joy.

At then end of tonights show both my OH and I said "I bet she finds a baby there"

  • Manimal

Have you ever had one of those days when there has been nothing on TV so all you do is flick up the channels and you find something on one of the obscure ones that catches your fancy? Well, thats what I have just done, and I have found a TV program that I remember from my yoof, and when i talk about it no-one ever believes it existed
It's Manimal, and if you have sky it's on channel 322! I remember it because I went to school with a boy called Jonathan Chase and he got quite bit of ribbing over it.

Now al I have to do is find someone that remembers the TV show Big John, Little John!

  • Easter Cremes and Memes! Weeley and Twuley!

I really do not know what day it is. On friday I thought it was Saturday, Yesterday felt like Sunday and I am sure today is Monday. Totally not with it.
Yesterday with the family was good. And I passed through a little village called Weeley! Weeley! It weeley is called that! I wondered if it was where the Weeley bins came from.
I have gotten a huge egg with a six pack of creme eggs in it. I think it will be my first creme egg of the the year. How did I survive so long?
And I see there is an Easter sunday meme going around {nicked from Sminchin and Ros}. What three things would I like to have accomplished by next Easter?
    1) I would like to have got through the choral recital which is coming up very soon. I also don't want to chicken out of it.
    2) I want to become more proficient in the art of dance. HOpefully I will do well in my intermediate class.
    3) I would like to be happier in my job. I think I can be, after I have done a year and gotten to know the ropes.

    Let's wait and see.

  • The joys of being an uncle

Saturday news.... it is Saturday isn't it?

Today I am going to do the 'family' thing. I will be picking up my mum and driving to visit my sister near Clacton. I have tons of excessively packaged chocoloate eggs for the children of the family, so that they can get high on sugar and hyperactive just at the moment I leave (the joy of being an uncle). I must remember to record Doctor Who

Can I just say for the record- Easter egg chocolate is the best chocolate ever.

  • Stop trying to pre-empt me!

    OK. Now a rant...
I wish technology would stop trying to pre-empt me! Sometimes I don't want to do or write the things that you think I do!
Firstly, Hotmail! My OH and I both htave hotmail accounts, however I often check mine and my OH doesn't really know how. But for some reason the computer has decided to constantly log Hotmail in as me. Even when I click the 'sign in as another user', it comes up with blank boxes then instantaneously re-sets itself with my account. It wouldnt let me log in as someone else at all!
And what is it with predictive text on mobile phones? I just had to turn mine off because it got too annoying!

One day technology is going to pre-empt my life and I am going to find that I have become redundant... no wait, I've already been made redundant once this year.

    .....
    .....
which reminds me it is a year ago today that I found out I was losing my job!

  • Odd Friday

IT's been an odd day today. For most of the day it has felt like Saturday. My OH is still in an odd mood- which is understandable.

  • Today (again)

My OH has a hospital appointment.

    ... deja vu anyone?

  • For the want of an exercise machine...

SO this morning was spent with quite a bit of nervous pacing, both from my OH and me. I dont know what it is about hospitals, but they do make me nervous. The appointment was in the afternoon, and because we were focussed on that, we didnt really get much done in the morning- which is a shame as we could have done with a day out. But at least we knew that by the end of the day we would know (hopefully) if everything was OK. Then tomorrow we could perhaps do something nice.

    Well that was the plan.

But at 12pm the phone rang...

    ..It was the hospital.

I am sorry Mrs CJ, but we are going to have to change your appointment to tomorrow afternoon. Our exercise machine is broken.

Great! So we have wasted a day in nervous anticipation, a day when we could have gone out, only to be told that the appointement has been moved to tomorrow. So we will be going trough it all again tomorrow!!!!!

All this because the bloody exercise machine is broken. My OH could be ill, and they're worried that one of the nurses isn't able to use the treadmill to run off the excess calries that she gained from eating that second custard slice at lunch!!

So this afternoon we went for a walk along Eastbourne front and watched Casino Royale.

  • Televisual entertainment

There is plenty on tonight for our entertainment.

Firstly it's The Apprentice- which is an absolute must! Especially judging by the previews I have seen on TV. They have to come up with an idea for dogs!!! Looks hilarious!

Things get hairy as the teams have two days to design an innovative product for dogs and pitch it to three pet stores. Look forward to seeing tensions peak between the candidates as their creative abilities are put to the test.

Rory and Katie take the lead as project managers for their respective teams. Both have different management styles and one decides to take a 'disciplined' approach to keeping their team in check.

From the start there are comic highlights as we see the respective teams brainstorming ideas, then going out and about in the name of research to pet shops and doggy discos. Emotions and tempers are rising as the teams race against time to make their way through the design process to create their final product.

Find out who's told to 'drop the dog nappy', and which candidate loses his cool and in an explosive outburst calls his team performance, 'a complete and utter shambles'.

It's a dog-eat-dog world. Only one team can win. Find out who impresses Sir Alan and his aides and who will be facing the firing finger in the boardroom...

Also worth a watch is Miss Match on e4 at 10pm. Starring Alicia Sylverstone- bit of a rom com drama, but totally inoffensive!

Or if you didnt see last weeks Lost, then there is an opportunity to do so again. For what I consider a 'filler' episode I did enjoy it- especially the ending. (It was the one with the spiders!)

So there you go. Who says I have square eyes?? :DD

  • Today

My OH has her hospital appointment this afternoon.

  • Domestos Cocktail, Bank Holiday Spurs and things to do with your trousers on top of the hoover.

Dammit. I have gotten a cold coming. I have felt it brewing for days. Once again the little virus vermin have waited until I am on holiday to make do their damage. Damn these little bacteria. Perhaps I should drink some Domestos- that will kill them dead! (or at least 99% of them)
I went into town today and bought myself the FF:XII guide (not to cheat of course, but to enhance my game-playing experience) I ahve also got some Easter eggs for the family. I am going to see some of my Rellies on Saturday- which is always an experience. Then on Bank Holiday Monday I am going to a soccer match (to watch Spurs play) with a freiend who bought me a ticket for my birthday, They are the spurs fan, I just enjoy going out! Last time we went it was Spurs V Liverpool and Spurs won!
I am really missing my dancing. I have to wait til next week before it starts again. I didnt think I would enjoy it as much as I did, and now I am having withdrawal symptoms! I have even been dancing with my trousers (hooked around the top of the hoover to represent a very short lady with floppy arms) not quite the same as the real thingp perhaps I should stick the Draft Excluder into the legs for extra 'thickness'

    Curry night tonight :)

  • Made up word of the day 2

Ambidextrose- to be able to eat sugary food with both hands.

  • Things to do on the Ocular Sabbath.

It's Monday and today I have not gone out at all. I decided to give my eyes a rest... as in not putting in my contact lenses. my optician tells me off if I don't have a day of rest from the lenses... a kind of ocular sabbath, if you will.

But I have been busy gaming. My PS3 is positively panting after the work out I have been giving it. (Perhaps I shouldn't have put a lead on it and taken it out for a walk!). I have managed to kill the huge giant four-headed dragon woman with the glowing purple belly. I am of course referring to the game Genji, a game based on the Japanese history where obviously there were plenty of four-headed dragon women roaming around, and not to be mistaken for the similarly sounding Andy Panji, a game where you play a samurai warrior wearing blue and white stripy pajamas, and you and your partner Looby-litsu, have to fight the Puppetmaster, only to find that you and Loobylitsu have been used as puppets all along!
Does anyone else watch the credits of a game in the hope that there might be some kind of hidden scene at the end? I remember the end scene of Summoner, it was hilarious!
I hav also been playing Vice City Stories, where I have managed to finish fifteen levels of the paramedic mission, hoping to get some kind of extra health bonus- all I got was the ability to run without running out of breath, which is OK I suppose.

Now that Genji is over, It's time to start another game. Maybe I will see if Final Fantasy 12 is backwards compatible

So who said my day was wasted? HAHA

PS if anyone is at home at the moment, Totally Doctor Who will start at 5pm on BBC1.

  • The Arachnophobe: A poem

    The Arachnophobe
    A poem by CJ

    Did you ever
    Find a spider
    In your slipper
    Did you shiver
    Did you quiver
    Did you quake
    Did you shake
    Did you break

    Did you ever
    Find a spider
    In your pocket
    Like a rocket
    You would fly
    You would cry
    You would try
    Not to die

  • I'm Spartacus!

Yesterday I went to see 300, which I actually knew very little about. THe advert makes it look quite gory and bloodthirsty. It's about 300 Sparta soldiers fighting the Persian army agaisnt all odds. I didn't even know where Sparta was! Whenever I hear the name Sparta, I just keep thinking of Spartacus.... which got me thinking.... Was Spartacus named after the place Sparta? If so, was it traditional to name people after places, and what would the country be like now if people named their children after places (Like Brooklyn Beckham??)
So what names would there be?
    Hemel HempStan
    Weston SuperMary?
    LittlehampTony?

    Hmmm.

    Something to think about

    From
    Clacton on CJ
