Doctors, Hospitals and Killing Phil Collins

by cj592 @ 2007-03-31 - 21:23:12

Saturday Night and I keep killing Phil Collins. Not in real life of course, bu in Vice City Stories (PSP). What a good idea to have a celebrity in it :DD. Adds something to it. Well it would if it werent for the fact that I keep destroying the bloody Limo.

The good Doctor has returned! What a good episode, and next week promises to be a stonker too- with witches and Shakespeare.

We have had a health scare here. My poor OH has been having pains in her chest. She went to the doctors last week and he seemed to think it wasnt anything to worry about (there is history of heart problems in her family) but last night she woke up with pains. She has a hospital appointment in the week, so I hope everything goes OK.

Right now I am watching an old episode of Jonathan Creek- which I thought was a great show!

And today's sports news.

Liverpool won. Actually it was Arsenal 1, to our 4! We got 4! And three of them from the excellent Peter Crouch! He's the man (I've always said so).

Answers and questions

by cj592 @ 2007-03-29 - 16:32:31

Received my rejection letter today. Now they must have known yesterday that I hadnt got the job. Would a phone call have hurt? According to my HM, they didnt even ask for references.... Hmmmmm. Anyway my HM seemed pleased that I wasnt leaving.

And another thing.... I was driving behind someone on the way home, and the person in the car in front wound down his window and blew smoke out of it. Why on earth would he do that? Was he worried that the smoke might stay in the car? Was he concerend in case he ended up breathing it in? Don't figure!

You're Fired!

by cj592 @ 2007-03-28 - 22:04:36

No, its not the phone call Ive ben dreading, but its the Apprentice. Back on our screens and on good form! I am so glad that guy Andy was fired. What a dick. Right from the start he tried to pretend that he was a team man saying that he had the balls to stand for leader, and then tried to get the other guy on his own and get him to take the leadership. Heehee.

Oh, and I still havent heard! Damn them all to hell.

No new news, views and interviews

by cj592 @ 2007-03-28 - 17:31:51

on the job front.

I sent an email to the school, because I needed to tell them my mileage for reimbursement, and I was going to add at the bottom "I am assuing that because I heard nothing last night, that I was unsuccessful in my application would be grateful if you could confirm this" but my OH said that sounded a bit too strong. So I added "I am looking forward to hearing from you soon about the outcome of the interview" which may sound better.
What I dont want to do is spend another night just waiting. It's hell on the nerves. And I don't want to wait like I did when I went for a job in Canterbury. They didnt let me know for four weeks! ANd I kept phoning (once a week) and felt like I was being pushy, but I think it's bad form to not let someone know... after all they invited you for the damn interview. That one resulted in a rejection- which they could have said right from the start!

Things the OH syas part 4

"It's Good Friday next Saturday, isn't it"

I've heard....

by cj592 @ 2007-03-27 - 21:22:11

...nothing.
Which means one of four things
1) They have offered it to one of the others and they are waiting for them either to accept/reject before offering it to another candidate.
2) They are still trying to contact the candidate they want, before turning down the others. You don't turn down the rejects, without speaking to the successful candidate.
3) They still haven't decided who to offer it to

or

4) I was so intimidatingly excellent in my interview that they are trying to build up the courage to offer it to me.

haha. I actually dont mind if I get it or not, but I kind of resent having to wait, especially considering the effort I went through. I have not relaxed all evening.

No news

by cj592 @ 2007-03-27 - 19:18:47

..so far. Which is probably 'bad' news. Which is OK. Its the waiting I dont like

Interviews, Driving drivers mad and Kiss the caretakers

by cj592 @ 2007-03-27 - 16:55:36

SO the interview is over and I am home. All I have to do now is wait for a phone call. THe Journey there was mad! (in traffic terms). It tok me 1h3/4 to take an hour long journey. And I spent a good while trying to find the school- which annoyed a lot of drivers on the road. (So if it was you taht I cut up earlier when I decided to change my mind about which direction I was going wheilts in the middle of the road- I apologise.)
There were three candidates- one internal, so I have a 1 in 3 chance I suppose. It's difficult to judge what they are looking for. I think my lesson went well, I certainly felt it did. And the interview was a bit odd- I'm not sure if I answered the questions the way they wanted it. I dont know. I did like the school and I think I would like it there- even though it is another department of women! (Where are all the men in teaching?- Theres only me, and I only barely make the category! :)) )
And now I have my 'indecisive' head on. My job at the moment isnt all bad. There are some fun bits to it. So will I want to make a change? I hate change. I only left my last job because I was forced out.
It's a toughie.
Oh and during the tour I noticed that the three cartekers all look like they are from the band Kiss!!! Weird!!!
Anyway. Can't worry about it until I get offered it. I hope I do. Whether I take it or not, it's always a boost of confidence. but if I dont, it's not as if I have the worst job in the world at the moment!

Fingers crossed.

PS: and if I dont hear tonight, or they phone to say they havent made up their mind, it means they have offered it to one of the other two and are waiting for them to give an answer- after all, its what I would do

Number two(s) post (snigger) and I'm having trouble with my Sanctus

by cj592 @ 2007-03-26 - 21:39:56

Attempt number two (Heehee Numnber two's)

It is Monday and today I have mostly been preparing for tomorrows interview. I'm not sure how much I can prepare though. I have stuff for the lesson but I will have to see how that goes when I get there. My main concern is getting there, as I dont know the area I am going to very well.
I managed to get to the choir practice today. I think I am improving but to be honest I can't get any worse. My Dominoes are good and I have perfected my Hosannas, However I am havng trouble with my Sanctus! We were also asked if we didnt want to perform on the day, and I considered that, and just enjoy the choir practice, but I missed the deadline, so it looks like I am going to sing after all. I suppose what I could do is sing loudl at the parts that I know and mumble during the 'not so sure' parts. However with the dwindling numbers, I'm not sure how many people will be left to hide behind.

This evening I have been playing my third station again.. and I have been kicking the crap out of a very angry crab! (Which I am pretty sure didnt actually happen in Japanese history). I am of course referring to the game Genji, which is not to be mistaken for a similar sounding game, Penju, which is about an 11th century Japanese penguin!

But back to tonight- I suppose I should have an early night, but Heroes is on. And will I be able to sleep anyway? Wish me luck chaps.

Sunday night: Planning, Loin cloths and Seven Types of Crap

by cj592 @ 2007-03-25 - 18:22:43

TisSunday and I have ben trying hard to plan for the week ahead. Not that there is much to plan for. I have written a lesson plan (of sorts) although it isnt much of one- considering the year group and topic. I have polished my shoes, got my shirts read for the week ahead and have had a relaxing bath, although this morning I was knocking even types of crap out of some weird Japanese characters that dared get impede me in my quest to.. er... knock seven types of crap out of them. I am of cours talking about the game Genji, and not the similar sounding game Ganja, where all you do is smoke pot and tell everyone how nice they are, which in itelf sounds a bit like the game Ghandi, where you also have to shave your head and run around in a loin cloth. Which also sounds like a typical Sunday night! ;)

PS: Are there really seven types of crap? If so, what are they?
1) THe long soft one
2) Runny stuff
3) Little bullets
4),..... er I cant think of any more and I have four more to find

Which is the best game, Genji or Ginga?

by cj592 @ 2007-03-24 - 14:55:02

Today I have mostly been playing Genji: days of the blade. It is an old fashioned Japanes Romp where you play four characters called...er.. SorryShitzu, Bunkup, Yoyoknicka and ...er. the other one. You kill lots of Japanese bad guys and move on to another area where there are lots more bad guys to kill. Apparently it is based on a real life struggle in Japan!

Anyway I have an idea for a better game, also based on the real life struggles of the underclass. Its called Ginga: Days of the redhead. Where you play one of four characters: Chris Evans, Ann robinson, Mick Hucknall or Bradley from Eastenders. Each one has their own unique fighting skill. Mick Hucknall can pitch a note that can make you brain explode, ann robinson can cut you down with a witty put down, CHris Evans will just bore the enemy so they walk away and Bradley, well actually he's pretty much a doormat and any baddie can defeat him easily.
Who knows, it may get made.

Damn this time rift

THey've chagned the start date for Doctor Who. It was supposed to start this week, but it wont start til next week!

Dragging myself away...

by cj592 @ 2007-03-23 - 22:39:39

Can I drag myself away from the PS3 long enough to make a blog entry tonight? I think so. I didn't go at midnight to queue up for it though. After all I have my little chit that shows that I have ordered one, although I would have quite liked the experience of queueing with the otehr geeks nerds enthusiasts.
Instead I went to bed. I was so tired and this morning I was glad I didnt stay up because I was exhausted anyway. It's been a funny day. Not really been in the mood to teach, there were tons of staff away, too, but I couldnt be used for cover as I teach all day on a Friday.
So after work, I rushed into town to get my sticky little hands on my new machine. Damn those traffic lights at Hastings. The traffic was a nightmare! And I cannot believe how many yellow warning signs I saw that said "Work due to start 2/4/07 for 'n' weeks" where n is the biggest number possible to cause inconvenience!!!
But now I am home, I didnt think I would make it through the week, but I did. Still no OFSTED news, so hopefully it wont happen this term. Only one week to go.

Now back to my new baby.....

Two really big questions

by cj592 @ 2007-03-22 - 23:24:56

I am beginning to feel tired. Will I be able to stay awake for the midnight shopping spree? OR will I sod it nd go to bed. I am already not looking forward to tomorrow... dont know how I am going to survive the day.

And more importantly, why is it that neither Seargent Flint nor Rosemary the telephone operator never recognises that Hong Kong Phooey looks like their Mild mannered Janitor. After all, there's not another dog-like character in the whole show, so that in its own right should make them suspicious!

(shake my) Booty and the Geek

by cj592 @ 2007-03-22 - 22:48:06

Just got on from my dancing class and tonight we did a move called dog-peek-dip-summing-or-nuffing. I couldnt quite work out what it was but it did involve me spinning the women very fast; so that if I accidentally let go they would zoom off like a spinning top. In fact had there been another man there I could have created a human version of that game battle tops... it could become a new sport! Alas, there wasn't any other men there... which made the next thing more embarrassing.
Teacher "Last week, we spent a lot of time focussingon the women's moves. This week we'll focus on the men's moves" and he turned to me and said "That means you!" 8|
But it was OK, it just meant I was in the middle getting one-to-one treatment, like a slow kid in class! (or is that un-PC... oh sod it I dont care)
Tiger woman was ther, but she seems to have cooled her ardour.... however drunken floozy girl was there giving it her "I dont care what moves I am doing... I am drunk and happy to sway in any direction". Catherine tate's 'Neville' girl was also there, even more made up than before... I am sure her plaits are getting tighter... perhaps to force the smile permanently on her face.
But now the class is over! and I have no more lessons for two whole weeks! THen I am going to try the intermediate class, which I saw a bit of tonight. Now there are definitely more men in that class... and my god, are they of a type. But I won't spoil that story now. Suffice to say that the Adams family are alive and well and living in Hastings.
But the class is over and I didnt even get a certificate. What sort of class is that!! :DD

So that's tonight, but there is more to come, as I am going to do something a bit more geeky. ( If I can stay awake til midnight). And that is to get my PS3, which is launched tonight. How geeky am I?

Belated brotherly blessings and job related happenings

by cj592 @ 2007-03-21 - 19:03:59

Wednesday news.
I got a text from my brother today. It was wishing me happy birthday. Thanks J, but it was yesterday. I suppose I shouldn't be too upset... normally he forgets completely.
I have been playing with my new phone... although it's a bit complicated. All I need now is for some friends to put on to the contact list.
Job related news.... I ahve got an interview for a HOD job next week. I hope this shakes the HM a bit. (or does that make me sound self important?). Who knows, I may even like it.
More job news... someone at work talked to me today and it was almost like we were friends. Although I am not holding up much hope. G (I will call him G) has not been happy there either. So thats both of us moaning minnies.

Wednesday question... why isnt it spelled wendsday?

What a bucking day

by cj592 @ 2007-03-20 - 22:08:15

It is Tuesday 20th March.
Work was irritating, I really didn't want to go in this morning... especially after the snow. When I got there, it just seemed like hassle after hassle, kids being annoying, staff being irritating, everyone talking about OFSTED (still no news). I just feel that if my lessons were observed I would only get satisfactory... especially when I hear how great the other teaches lessons are... I feel useless.
This evening, we had Chinese food and played this....
buckaroo

Now I am settling down to watch TV whilst totally ignoring any work I have to do and trying to forget the day. WHich is a shame considering.

Waiting

by cj592 @ 2007-03-20 - 21:39:13

...

Monday had nothing exciting to offer.

by cj592 @ 2007-03-19 - 19:30:17

Okay this is the second attempt at this seeing as the first one disappeared.

It is only Monday and I am already knackered. Having an active weekend really knocks you out for the week :)
I never made it to the choir practice, seeing as the club taht I run coudn't be covered. So that's another week gone by without practice. I am feeling less and less confident about it all. Apparently, talking to someone who did go, the choir was pretty bad today... which will make the performance coming up quite ...er.. entertaining.
Still no news on the OFSTED front. This week was supposed to be the most likely week for it, but the emergency bat-phone hasn't rung as yet. So still on tenterhook there. Although I am glad, because the last thing I want to do tomorrow night is hours of unnecessary preparation.

Does anyone else notice that you get more of that unspecific 'for the household owner' post on a Monday

I wish I were a tree- a poem

by cj592 @ 2007-03-18 - 12:41:32

I wish I were a tree
A poem by CJ

I wish I were a tree, growing in the wood
To never have a girlfriend I think could be quite good
To think up chat-up lines requires imagination
I’d rather wait for windy days and try cross pollination
If a child was to climb me, he could do it and be reckless!
I wouldn’t have to worry about political correctness.
And if I was a tree I could avoid being dumped
But if you put an axe to me, I’d be well and truly stumped.

"I bet that you look good on the dance floor.... oh... looks can be deceiving, can't they"

by cj592 @ 2007-03-18 - 12:19:22

Sunday morning and I am just recovering from last nights dance-fest. It was embarrassingly hilarious. The evening started with a dance class; now during the week, my teacher said that I was doing well and I should try some of the intermediate stuff. "I'm game" I thought, so I decided to join the intermediate lesson last night. And boy was it frantic!! Suddenly we were shown all sorts of twists and turns and spins and dips, and the music was getting faster!! So there I was trying hard to follow a routine with partners who were all a bit more experienced, and I was bashing their heads meith my aarms, twisting their arms round their backs, stopping on their feet and throwing them across the floor when the spin got out of control and I let go! And each partner, looking like they had been dragged through a hedge backwards, smiled and politely said 'thank you' as they moved to the next gent.
After the lesson, was the free-style dance part. There were some 'dance leaders' there, ready to drag helpless victims willing volunteers onto the dance floor. I was keen to give my new found talents a whirl... unfortunately effort and ability are no the same thing... and the amount of times I had to apologise was enormous.
The tiger lady was there, all prowling and purring. However she didn't stay long as she had some prey to hunt another party to go to. However, there were some other characters there. There was Dolly Parton and her friend..er.. Dolly Parton. (who kept dragging me up) and then there was drunken floozy girl, who was finding it hard to follow any moves due to her innebriated state. She just grabbed and wiggled!
It was a good night though, but I think I'd want to be a bit better before doing it again.

Now I am catching up on last nights TV. How did I know that Kyran was going to win Dancing on Ice. He was good, but I thought Claire was better tonight. Still, I cant complain, it has been a great show. I am now watching Primeval... which has turned out to be better than I thought. The idea of having a link to the future now adds another dimension to the whole show, and gives opportunity for plot development in future series!! I liked that whole photograph twist :)
Just seen the end.... WOW! THat was good!

Saturday night at the groovies, who cares what bitches we see

by cj592 @ 2007-03-17 - 18:16:19

Had a lovely relaxing bath whilst listening to the random tunes coming from my Iplayer. Because tonight I am ...... going out. I am going dancing again. My dance class is holding a class/party tonight, with a guest teacher. So I thought I would go along. My OH would have come with me except she has plans to speak to her brother, who is still very lonely after the death of his wife. They go on t'internet and do video link. Somehow though I don't think she is worried too much about me going on my own, not after I described the 'types' that were there. Although I will be sad if the tiger woman doesnt com :DD

Today I got my hair cut. I went to my favourite hairdresser and managed to be third! But I did get there just before 9am (even though it is supposed to open at nine) and as I was walking there, I noticed another guy speed up his walking just so he could get there before me :)). Two minutes later two more had come in and by 5 past nine, there were seven people waiting! Now if I had walked by at 5pst, I wouldnt have even bothered going in and would have suffered my silly hair for another week. Hmmm, I wonder if I should try booking one time?!

I didn't go out this afternoon, I did have a nap though for ten minutes. It would have been longer if the bloody phone hadn't rung. I rushed downstairs only to find it was one of those 'congratulations you have won a holiday' recorded phone Arses. Coudnt get back to sleep after that.

Did anyone see Tony Blair on Comic Relief? How on earth did he agreee to do that?

Dirty stopout

by cj592 @ 2007-03-17 - 09:30:36

SO what do you think? Am I staying in tonight, or going out? And if I'm going out, where do you think I might be going?

Walk this way... away from the shop playing this song

Am I the only one that doesn't like the Comic Relief song by the babes and the girls. I think it sounds rubbish

The dancing diva shows off his gold star despite the celebrity line up

by cj592 @ 2007-03-15 - 22:54:25

Lalala.. lalala...lalala...lalala.
The dancing diva is back. And tonight the crowd is diminshing even more, and this time it was some of the women that never made it back. Perhaps those blood hungry vampires have found the male pickings less than satisfactory... wait a minute, that's me I'm talking about.
And the moves are getting harder.. for the women. As a man all I had to do was step forward, step to the side and turn. The women had to step back and spin whilst moving forward so they end up facing the other way. Suffice to say there was an awful lot of bumping going on... and some of it not unintentional!!!! 8|
Isn't it amazing how you suddenly see the people you are with as lookalikes to celebrities. et me desribe a few people I dance with. There's Jane, Ian's bird from Eastenders but also has a look of Rodney Trotter; There's a Janet Street Porter on extra hormones; theres Daphne from Eggheads and my favourite (only to laugh at) is that character that Catherine Tate plays.... the one in the Burger Van that always says she has met famous people and says "Neville"! Seriously!! I have noticed that week in/ week out she is applying more make up and looking more and more swedish.
Anyway, back to the dancing and I got a big thumbs up from the teacher {CJ glows with pride and shows off his gold star} I think I may try the intermediate class. :)
I have been enjoying myself, even though some of the female attention is a bit... er...attentive. Hopefully next time there will be more men.
