Neville the Breville

by cj592 @ 2007-02-08 - 17:48:02

Another ridiculous poem. Seriously, I have been working as well!!!

Neville the Breville
A poem by CJ

Neville the Breville adored Cheese on Toast
His famous Welsh Rarebit was the pride of the coast
People would travel from Newport to Nantwich
To nibble his famed ham and cheese toasted sandwich
But Neville’s desire for hot toasted food
Soon dropped when mishap occurred cooking nude
For the joy that he felt cooking free from regalia
Turned to horror when he toasted his own genitalia

Feeling a fraud and Newsworthy weather

by cj592 @ 2007-02-08 - 16:36:21

Why on earth do I feel guilty and fraudulant? It's not as if I chose to close the school. I sometimes feel guilty when I take a day off sick, but that's my choice, so why do I feel guilty about this? I think part of it is that I am looking out of the window and am seeing nice sunny weather. In fact there was rain this morning here (by the south coast) it was only when I was travelling North did I see the bad weather.
I am more worried about tomorrow's journey as I am expecting quite a bit of black ice on the road.

Watching the news earlier made me laugh because the main news item is the weather.
OH: Whats on the news?
Me: It's the weather
OH: Have I missed the news then?
Me: No, the news is on.
OH: I thought you said it was the weather?
ME: Yes. The weather is the news
OH: I wonder what they're going to say on the weather
Me: Probably the news!

Snow closures and vibrating pockets

by cj592 @ 2007-02-08 - 12:29:13

I got up nice and early this morning, thinking I may have to take it slowly into work. Looked outside and noticed it had snowed but at that present moment it was raining (SO the roads were slushy) My drive to work tkes me northwards, and the weather changed. the further nortwards the more snowy it was getting. I even passed that field, and either there was a suuden population explosion of sheep overnight, or the wole place was covered with snow
ON my way to work my pocket vibrated! IT was my phone. But being a conscientious driver I didnt answer it so I just let it vibrate happily (and not unpleasantly) in my pocket. When I got to school there was a sign on the door. SChool closed today, but there is a staff meeting!
Damn! So we had to wait for a while, as the snow came down heavier, and all we were told in the staff meeting was to go home (actually we were told had to work but if we could work at home that was fine)
So I am now at home. The fire is lit, I have done quite a bit of work. And tomorrow is the last day before half term.
Should I be feling this happy about it? Shame it didnt happen yesterday as that is my least favourite teaching day- today is my easiest day!

PS In case you are interested, the phone call was from my OH teling me that my school was on the radio as listed as being closed!
