Help. Is this dodgy?
As stuffed as a vine leaf
Another late night! We went to a greek evening last night and it was really good fun. And the food.... lovely.
It started off with pitta bread and some bowls of Taramasalata, coucous and another one that I thought was like a face pack, but my OH said it wa a mint and cucumber thing. And then came the beans, the crab and beetroot salad, the stuffed vine leaves and meatballs, and then came the cheese and ham, real greek cheese and ham not just the plastic slices you get from Morrisons. And that was the starter!
THen came the fish course.... Sea bass, King prawns and Calamari. ANd with it an odd soup which I thought was a bit too watery and lemony for my liking, until my OH told me it was the finger bowl!
Then came the main course... Lamb chop, kebab, more meatballs, past-rice and greek salad (with feta cheese) and it was lovely
Then came the fruit, a huge bowl of melon, apples, grapes and oranges. By now I was as stuffed as a vine leaf!
During the meal there was some greek dancing with audience participation. It was good fun. We sat next to a couple that I shall name Howard and Hilda (Because they remind me of those characters from ever decreasing circles) who are amateur archaeologists and go to the greek islands often. When they heard that a local restaurant was doing a greek night they were keen to 'support' it- being a local business. We got the lowdown on where th best greek restaurants are on Crete, Cyprus, in Plymouth and London. And if we were ever to go there and we mentioned there names we could get a discount! Ooooh! (My OH's eyes lit up- it's just like a money off voucher!)
So after all the food, a couple of bottles of wine and a nice coffee, it was about 1am when we left to go home.
Another late night. But this is the last one. The party season is definitely over now. I think it the right time to go back to work.

PS: I havent done any work
PPS: I am thinking whehter I should go and see Apocolypto
