4-lorn

by cj592 @ 2006-10-21 - 21:39:52

Haha. I am glad that the Macdonalds got through! But it was a worry there at the end that Leona was going, she's one of my favourites. Thankfully she made it.
I thought 4sure would be in the bottom 2, but Robert surprised me. Perhaps that suit just lost him an audience :DD.

And with 4sure out of the race now, Louis has only 2 groups left and one of them is The Macdonalds.

And after watching Ant and Dec perform their wonderful Boy Band routines earlier :DD, it made me remember how much I actually enjoyed 5's album. I must dig out the album. And what is Christopher Biggins famous for?

Sing for your supper: We're having a Stew-art, Rod

It's that X-fctor time again......

It’s the second week and the Unconventionals are gone. Rod Stewart is going to be on; I wonder if they will let him have his say like they didn’t for Lionel Richie last week. But I suppose it is a way of him promoting his greatest hits (again) album.

Leona is first. A video clip shows her meeting Rod Stewart. How amazing would it be to have a name like Rod Stewart knowing who you were.8|. It would be just as amazing if Jade Goody knew who you were. :DD . The First Cut is the deepest, and the first verse is the worsest. She sounds a bit wobbly there, but she is owning the stage again; some awkward vocals though. Did she break a window then? And not many people can pull off a leopard skin dress. (Now can I pull off that leopard skin dress?)

Kerry sings I don’t want to talk about it. Now her voice suits this song; it’s gravely just like Rod’s is J. She does it well, slow and deliberate.

The Macdonald brothers should do well, because of the Scottish connection. Damn I was just about to say, they should do well as long as they don’t get ‘I am Sailing’. Hmm… Red T-shirt and Kilts… How bizarre. I am sure they are going to burst out into a Proclaimers song “I am Sailing, I am Sailing Waiting for a Letter from Americuh”. I don’t think they are good enough to stay this week. Shame. Simon is really digging into their performance, and I quite agree.

Ashley is on. Blah Blah Blah. There is another thunderstorm here, which is far ore interesting to watch. If he had a cut, he would need to use a Bland Aid! And if people vote for him, are they just jumping on the Blandwagon? Is he like Terence Trent D’arby?

Dionne, who ended up in the last two last week, may have a lot to do tonight. Will the song she is given be enough? She sounds like she’s singing a Tina Turner song, and is moving a bit like her too. Tonight’s the night….that she could be leaving.

4Sure.’Youre in my heart, you’re in my soul’ but your number is not in my phone memory. A fair attempt of a 4 part harmony but I don’t think it worked very well. Some of the harmony was off key.

Nikita- bringing a powerful performance back home to her. Plus the backing of the twenty or so Gospel singers didn’t do any harm. Great tune and she looks like she is enjoying doing it, however the outfit is not flattering. Oh but Louis disagrees. He called it forgetful. I enjoyed it.

Robert bounces onto the stage wearing a bright and shiny maroon suit.. He funks up a version of ‘Try a little Tenderness’: a bit predictable maybe, but enjoyable nonetheless. Ooh, I am surprised he hasn’t split those trousers. Is it me, or he sounding more and more like Frank Bruno.

Eton Road… aaargh, that weird one is wearing a plunging neckline again. Oh he really shouldn’t. ‘This old heart of mine’ is sounding like an old boy band, d’you remember Bad Boys inc? It’s a plinky, plonky inoffensive piece of drivel. Sharon had said that Kelly had already proposed to the Liza Minelli one; I assume she meant her daughter Kelly, but I think he would much prefer Matthew Kelly!

Congratulations Ray. You have managed to make the Deep voiced Louis Armstrong song ‘Wonderful World’ sound like Michael Jackson singing ‘Ben’ again. Sharon had said that he will enjoy the guest singer next week, I’m thinking it might be this person

Ben isn’t going anywhere this week. He has the Rod Voice and a very popular song. I do find that he groans around the words, like …er… Rod Stewart. I hope that piano doesn’t break, with him stamping on it like that.

And lastly it’s the Unconventionals…. No wait, they’ve gone. :DD

So I predict that Macdonald Brothers and 4sure will be the bottom 2.

Hard working pair

by cj592 @ 2006-10-21 - 13:49:48

My OH and I have just spent the past 3 hours working. Getting it out of the way. I still have a good couple of hours left to do though.

But it is lunch time.... Bacon and eggs (It was supposed to be breakfast, but for some reason I couldn't stomach it)

Ridiculous storylines of the week: Blue Moon and Who's the Daddy?

by cj592 @ 2006-10-21 - 10:32:44

I had a good night out last night. Lots of gossip from an old mate. I used to work at the same school as him, so I know most of the people he talks about, and I feel like I'm getting to know the others just by the way he describes them. Hearing some of the problems their school is having, is making me feel a bit better. But being out last night I knew I was gonna miss Eastenders, so I Video+'ed it. The problem is with video+, it never takes into account the act that programs can run late. And last night Eastenders must have run a bit late, so I missed the end. GRRRRR.

Can someone tell me how it ended? Did Jake get killed? I saw him being approached by some guy after he left the club... and then it stopped. NOOOOOOO! We like Jake. Well, we like him more now because he hates Shaun, and we really do NOT like Shaun! I must admit that some of the recent storylines have been a bit unrealistic. I mean, Johnny Allen dying like taht and being overheard saying "Get Jake Moon" especially in the earshot of a hitman. But the hitman misundersood the instruction; Johnny wanted Jake Moon to kill Shaun, but the hitman thought Johhny wanted Jake dead. What a mistake-ah to make-ah! But that's not the most ridiculous coincidence this week. Denise, who has never known her father- only that he used to be in a five piece band in Trinidad called the Five Hectors (or something), suddenly finds out that Patrick, who lives just over the square, used to be in a five piece band in Trinidad called the Five Hectors. What are the chances? 8| When we saw that story coming we both yelled 'NOOOOOOOOO' at the TV screen. :DD. It reminds me a little bit of that South Park episode when Cartman wanted to find out who his father was... and it turned out to be his mum!
Anyway, does anyone know what happened?

I have got quite a bit of work to do this half term. What I might do is get it all out of the way today, so that i won't be on my mind all week. I am good aren't I :)
But first I have to muck around with the new DVD player, because it isn't doing what I want it to do, and the handbook is next to useless. (Actually it's next to me at the moment)

PS I found out yesterday that the Admiral has got another job for January, so he is going to leave me alone at the school. OH no! That means.... (shudder) I might have to start (shudder) ... making friends.
