My OH has been a busy lady on her day off. I had to put the car into service today- as the light said it was urgent. So she took the car into the garage for me. She also had to stay on for a delivery of a new chair. a recliner chair with a footrest! Soooo relaxing. And then she phoned the CD repair place and they are going to have to take it back in (and hopefully repair it properly)
And then she had a shock. The bank phoned asking whether everything was alright. And not our local bank here, but the bank she used to go to in Devon when we lived there 13 years ago. The bank asked if everything was OK, because she never turned up for her appointment. "What appointment?" she asked.
"You phoned and asked for an appointment to arrange the loan."
"What loan?" she replied
"Someone phoned up with your bank details asking to arrange a loan. But we wouldn’t do it over the phone"
Then the bank checked their records and realised she had moved away. But it was a bit of a worry that someone had managed to call the bank with her bank details. I wonder what would have happened if the person had turned up? The bank have made a note of the situation, but other than that what can we do? It was a bit of a shock- she was beside herself when I got home
