The Cyber saga ends, despite our best efforts

by cj592 @ 2006-09-09 - 12:21:14

Oh i meant to write this the yesterday but .....

Previously on CJ blog.....
I had been having a lot of trouble trying to find a Cyberman five inch model. I had tried Argos and other shops who all had loads of 'The Doctor' models but no Cybermen. Notice that the blog is dated the fifth of August.
AJ wrote a comment on that blog linking me to Amazon.co.uk and suggested I try there, for which I replied I have ordered one. I'll let you know if one actually arrives
Now I never actually let you know if it arrived and I am certain you have all been on the edge of your seats.....

Because yesterday I received this e-mail

Dear Customer,

We wanted to give you an update on the status of your order [xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx].
We are sorry to report that, despite our best efforts, we have been
unable to source the following item:
"Doctor Who Action Figure - Cyberman"
This item has now been cancelled from your order and we can confirm that you have not been charged for it.
Please accept our apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience
caused.

It has taken over a month for them to tell me this! Can you believe it. Although is does say 'despite our best efforts' I wonder just exactly what their 'best efforts' really are. I am assuming they have not hired the A-team to hunt one down in true 'helping out the underdog in real military style'. I imagine it only consisted of some spotty youth opening up a cupboard and looking at an empty shelf, saying 'it's not here' and then disappearing to sniff the UHU glue.

Hair cuts and onions

by cj592 @ 2006-09-09 - 12:01:22

I am back now. I got my hair shaved off. Hoorah- no more silly hair for me. Boy that barbers is busy. I got into town by 8:45 and noticed that the salon opened at 9am. So I walked into town and came back by 8:59. The shop was open. And there were already 4 people waiting! So I had to wait again. At least this time no-one was getting art carved into the sides of their heads.
I also managed to get some red potatoes! I also bot a small packet of red onions and have placed them in the Potato drawer, so my OH will think I have got it wrong and bought red onions and not potatoes! (Welcome to my sad little life)
I have treated myself to some DVD's. I bought X-files season 7 and 8, so I now have the complete set. And Battlestar Galactica season 2. I never seem to get to see it on TV. I also bought a few cheap films. So I may just chill out and watch TV for the rest of the afternoon.

Or I may just fall asleep on the sofa!

One Potato, Two Potato, Three Potato, Red!

by cj592 @ 2006-09-09 - 07:47:02

I am up early to wave goodbye to my OH as she leaves for work. I also need to get my hair cut, it is getting long and irritating. Soon it will be as silly as that Baldwin boy in Coronation street.
I decided to be helpful so as she left I asked if there was anything I could get for her.
"We need potatoes"
"OK. I will get a bag of potatoes" I replied helpfully
"Get red one" she said
"And will it say Red on the bag?" I asked stupidly
"IT will be the bag with the red potatoes in them"
"But it will say so on the bag. won't it?"
"If you go along and see a bag that doesn’t have red ones in, don't pick them up. Look for the ones that are a red colour."
"Okay." I replied "and I will make sure it has 'red' written on the packet'"
Then she laughed (With me not at me I am hoping)

I will let you know how I get on potatao-wise
