Big Brother finalists.

by cj592 @ 2006-08-18 - 23:18:46

THe Big Brother Final is now over. And the winner is.... the one who was favourite right from day 1- Pete
And here are my thoughts...
Nikki. I laughed at her! I don't think she should have been allowed to go back in. She screamed and tantrumed her way through the last week, and I get enough of that at work!
Glyn was a good laugh, and very passionate about where he came from, although I can't remember where he is from.
Pete. He was entertaining I suppose but I couldn't see what what everyone else saw. Why did everyone fancy him? I thought he was a bit of a drip.
Richard- Was funny at times but a bit of a bully at other times. I don't think he was ever going to win. During the last week he spent too much time up nikki's ass I'm surprised he can remember what daylight is!
And my favourite was Aisleyne, probably because of the emotional journey she went through. There were times I laughed with her and laughed at her, and cried when she cried and laughed at her when she cried! But I thought she wa a star! And I am thrilled that she beat Nikki!
Is that everyone? What do you mean I missed someone? Who? Jennie? Jennie who?

Can you believe that it was 13 weeks? A whole quarter of a year? What are we going to watch now? Love island just isnt the same.

Things

by cj592 @ 2006-08-18 - 17:45:19

They say 'Love makes the world go round' but I'm not convinced.
I think it is things that make the world go round.
It's what we are all about.
People go out and find things. They take the things they have found and give them to other people who then make things. Then people buy the things they want. Money was created to help the people who want the things to buy the things. The money then goes to the seller of the things who then buys more made things from the maker of the things to be able to sell more made things. The money then moves from the maker of the things to the Finder of the things to pay for the things they have found. The finder of the things probably need some made things to help him find new things so he goes to a seller of things to buy some things, which he pays for with his money and so the circle is complete.
But why doesn't this end? The problem is really the things. The things aren't made to last, so soon New things become old things and then broken things. The people who have the broken things then need new things to replace them. And what happens to the broken things? They are thrown away and become lost things waiting to be found by the finder of the things. And the second circle is complete
All of this works quite well, except where does the money come from? The person who needs to buy the things needs to make the money. They do this by getting jobs. You can either get a job finding things, making things or selling things. And so the third circle is complete.
And what do you get when you put these three circles together? It may be something but it's probably nothing.

Lightning, Marmite and an impressive bedroom technique

by cj592 @ 2006-08-18 - 14:02:56

Last night when I was on the toilet reading my magazine (Now don't tell me you don't do it, we all do it) I read an article. It was reflecting over the last series of Doctor Who and it described one of the episodes, the one with Peter kay as the Absorbing monster, as the 'Marmite' Episode- you either love it or you hate it.
And it got me thinking, how clever of Marmite to introduce the advertising slogan 'you either love it or you hate it' because it is becoming more used in everyday life. Even Bryan, our great reviewer, described the film 'Hard Candy' as a 'Marmite' film. And now when poeple want to describe something as 'you either love it or hate it' they can use the term Marmite- talk about free advertising.
I have to admit when I read the macazine article I thought 'Hmm, i just fancy some marmite on toast', but it was 11:30 at night and we had just changed the bed linen.

Talking of changing the bed linen. My OH is always very impressed with my techniques. Use the old 'inside out Duvet cover routine' and it's done in a jiffy. I think I learnt that technique from Blue Peter once. Or it might have been the Generation game.

There was a thunderstorm last night, with flashes of lightnin'. This morning, we were discussing lightning and we confused ourselves- which isn't difficult. We have always been told that if you get struck by lightning, the you are safe if you are wearing Wellies. When I asked my OH why this was, she said "It's because you are Earthed to the ground"
"So they say, but what does that actually mean" I asked
Her reply "WEll I think its because if you get hit by lightning, the electricity passes straight through you and into the ground"
"So the rubber conducts the electricity into the ground."
"Yes. No. Yes."
"So rubber is a good conducter of electricity. If thats so, why aren't more wires made of rubber?"
And then we got too confused and our brains exploded..... damn! and we had just changed the bed linen!

Welcome to my wierd blog. It's Marmite!
