Scenes From CJ's Sofa- More popular than Friends!

by cj592 @ 2006-07-05 - 21:03:53

We have just finished catching up on last nights Lost!  We enjoyed it but it didnt really get us any further into the story.  Michael is still missing as is Walt.  But I did have a "Look out! Old man with Beard" moment as they met one of the others.
And the back story was about Jack again, and his decision to risk operating on an old man with a heart condition.
Anyway this got us thinking. (And I know how much you like reading little excerpts from our life here on the CJ Sofa) So here is our conversation.....

Me:  Ok, imagine I was in the position where I could die in a years time unless I was operated on.  But the operation had a high risk of failure and I could die.  Would you let them operate on me?
OH: Well you will be able to tell them yourself.
Me: Ok but what if I lost my tongue and I couldn't speak
OH: You could still use your hands.
Me: And I've lost my hands.
OH: In that case I'd let them operate.  If you've lost your tongue and your hands, you'll be no use to me!

Charming!:DD

All the fun of the Dick Swiveller

by cj592 @ 2006-07-05 - 19:01:52

IT looks like the country is going theme park mad, what with the opening of the new Dickens World in Chatham in Kent.
Well I have been thinking about some of the attractions they might want to encoproate like the spinning ride known as the 'Oliver Twister'  or the bumper car ride known as the 'Artful Dodgems'.
You may be able to check your reflections in the Bleak House of mirrors, or scare yourself on the Marley's Ghost Train.
If you like the roolercoaster you could try the death defying Corkscrooge or maybe just buy a novelty gift for the Old Curiosity Shop.  (But be carfeul of the Dick Swiveller)

IT sounds like it could be hours of fun, but what next? An Enid Blyton world? Or a Frederick Forsythe world.  Or even a Jeffrey Archer world... no wait.  That's called Belmarsh

Tonsil Tom and my nipples getting another impromptu showing

by cj592 @ 2006-07-05 - 18:08:26

It happened again.  It knew the weather was supposed to be 'changeable' but I was hoping it would hold off this morning.  It was our last lesson with a certain group and I wanted to do the treasure hunt I did with the year 7's on the Maths Fun day. I set out the course and started it off, and when they were out and about... the heavens opened.. and it wasn't just Mana. (Actually I wouldnt have minded some Mana cause that would have made a  nice little snack.)  It urinated down persistantly.  For about 30minutes. For the entire duration of the hunt.  And I got soaked and my shirt got soaked and for the second day running my nipples got an impromptu showing.  I didnt  plan it... honest.

I had a picnic lunch with the members of my department today.  Just to sort of say goodbye and  say thanks for their hard work.  One of them brought some home made pickle which was lovely.  And we had Cheese with Apricots on it and that was delicious.

I also said goodby to my sixthers.  That was quite sad.  There have been some fun stories I could tell, especially about the Local Chinese restaurant... but I said I wouldn't, because the girl involved (and her boyfriend 'Tonsil' Tom) might get embarrassed.

Now I am home and the sky box still isn't working,  My OH has rung an engineer who will come tomorrow but we have had so many giving us different advice over the years and the problem still persists.

I can't find a font type I like.  What was the original one called?
