Headline of the day

by cj592 @ 2006-03-18 - 22:23:25

In the news:
NEW TV school drama Waterloo Road is oversexed and unrealistic , head teachers said yesterday.

Damn I missed it.

Well-run schools where pupils are working hard, where all the staff work as a team, don't make good telly."
Why would that stop them. They've been making not good telly for years!
However wasnt there a brilliant drama last year starring Julie Walters, based on a true story about a Head turning a school around. Now THAT was good!

DESIGNER Emma Green got into pop-up art recreating Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece Mona Lisa out of toast.
Emma, 28, spent three days toasting more than 18 loaves to perfect the portrait, which is 6ft by 4ft and made of 144 slices.

Next she is gonna fry thousands of sausages to make the Vitruvian Man!

And lastly Headline of the day goes to this one
Tiny firm behind the disaster
but put a colon in it and it has a totally different meaning

Vendettas, Thinking and a strange angle

by cj592 @ 2006-03-18 - 19:59:46

What a day. I have just come back from seeing V for Vendetta. It's very very good. I would recommend it!!!!

On the way home I was listnening to some Robbie Williams. there are some very pertinent lyrics that I think reflect me.

From Come Undone
"I’m contemplating thinking about thinking"
I think thinking is over-rated really. Whenever my OH starts a sentence "Don't you think..." I reply "Not if I can help it"

It reminds me of a great line from the pilot film of Moonlighting.
"David, I don't think..."
"Thas' OK, you look good."
Moonlighting was a great show when it started, but it got boring nearer the end, after they had got together.

Oh and another Robbie Lyric which is pertinent to me right now.
From the Song Feel
"My head speaks a language, I don’t understand."
And this is literally true, because my head said something strange this week, that made no sense. Perhaps there is someone out there in Blogland that can decipher it....
When the HM came into my classroom there was an angle drawn on the board. I said to her "Perhaps you would like to guess the size of it"
She laughed and said no. Then as she left, she said "If there are any angles in this room, they are sharp ones"

What could she have meant?

My family and Hustle

by cj592 @ 2006-03-18 - 00:03:16

OK I have to mention it. Wasn't there just a tad too much nakedness on BBC 1 tonight.
Firstly My Family: New series? New... Or slightly used? I like Myfamily, there are some good lines in it, but I think it might be nearing bed time for them all. It's just not the same without Nick. And there were naked butts!

Then Hustle. This is a fantastic show. The Henderson game, with Mickey doing the con on Danny. Excellent stuff. more writing like this please Auntie Beeb. And the biggest con of all, the bet to get them naked in the centre of London. Heehee
